Is Mikey Garcia signing with Dana White?

You don't need his permission for a purse bid. If Mikey refuses to fight, he'll be stripped and everyone will know he blatantly ducked Linares. But as things stand right now, Linares has been the mandatory far longer than Mikey has even been champion. If Linares really wanted to fight Mikey, he would snap his fingers and we would have the fight. Purse bids solve everything.
They have matching rights. If those rights are preventing Linares from enforcing his mandatory status, that isn't Mikey's fault. Mikey is the champion. If HBO won't allow Linares to fight Mikey, then Linares should relinquish his mandatory position. And HBO just told arum they own Linares rights for his next fight.
Whoever ducks the purse bid would be stripped and then we would know who was truly holding up the fight.Either oscar or HBO could kill any purse bid. And mikey/UFC could kill a purse bid.
Then Linares should make Mikey throw his belt in the trash. One problem though, GBP knows Mikey won't throw it away. Linares not demanding the bid shows you who really wants the fight. If Mikey didn't really want the fight, demanding the bid strips him of his belt. So clearly GBP doesn't believe Mikey will duck the fight. They believe he'll accept the fight, which is precisely why they don't want it.Haymon made quillin throw his belt in the trash because he didn't want to work with jay-z and roc nation who won a purse bid.
Of course Duva said that. What else is she supposed to say? That her fighter demanded to be the mandatory and then blatantly ducked Stevenson?Duva said HBO wouldn't allow a purse bid with Stevenson.
Stop believing all of these lying promoters. Purse bids cut through all of the bull****. Nobody should care about who is with what promoter or who is with what network. Purse bids are the answer.Comment

If UFC offers enough money, anything is possible. Haymon spent to gain control. Not control for control's sake, but because that control would be very valuable in the future. Haymon is positioned to sell or rent his stable to anyone who comes along in the future with the right amount of money.
To make money. Then what was the point of PBC? LMAO
If he cashes out at a profit, how did he fail?Only way that makes sense is if you admit that PBC failed and haymon wants to cash out and sell off his guys.Comment

Which is why, for years, UFC has been very carefully positioning their championships as "awards," and as such, it would be a violation of the first ********* of the constitution to have a law making it illegal for one party to offer a distinction or award to another party.
If UFC wants to create boxing titles, they've been laying the legal groundwork for years to do so. That aspect of the Ali act would never hold up in court if UFC continues with their "award" legal argument.
Very unlikely. IBO doesn't have traction with any major network and ultimately the networks are in control of this.IBO is gonna be the 5th title soon enough anyway so this UBC title would be the 6th lol.
The IBO was on its way to recognition until Sky Sports killed it dead in 2005. It's never recovered. Kudos to Sky Sports. They did a great thing for boxing.Comment

They have spent years building that relationship and hitched their wagons together. If haymon is looking to phuk over showtime sure I guess he could and hey if he does they have no one to blame but themselves. Only way I see this happening is if haymon is is ready to wave the white flag on the PBC. Otherwise it don't make sense dana is looking to start his own thing and haymon will just be selling guys off he won't have any say. Like UFC has done by buying up fighters from other en****** in the MMA world. Hard for me to see haymon spending all the time and money to have full control and just give it all away.Jacobs is with HBO now. There is talk of more guys branching out. This PBC thing is on shaky legs & I don't even understand the battle plan here with Haymon & Showtime thats keeping them aligned in any real way. I know some people are still saying PBC will get a national TV deal, but idk things are seeming less & less likely.
If you can break down why Showtime & Haymon have to stay in business together for the foreseeable future I'd appreciate it cuz I don't really get it & I don't see it.
Well Dana gave him high praise. Haymon never talks so who knows who he digs or don't dig, but I'm of the belief Haymon would do business with Satan himself if he thought he could make a good deal for his fighter.
Show me the un-greedy promoter? Haymon is about getting his fighters the most money. That can involve anyone. And MMA works like MMA works. Boxing works like boxing works. Why people think Dana is a crook cuz he pays fair market value for his fighters is beyond me. Like I always say the promotions that paid fighters "what they are worth" (allegedly) went broke.
Thats not to say there aren't problems with the UFC (the contracts are rumored to be illegal & won't stand up in court + the way fighters got effed over with sponsorship money among them), but the pay isn't one of them as I see it. The big names make millions of dollars with PPV money. And plenty of names make 6 figures. And most guys ain't selling a ticket, just like most boxers, & don't make sh^t, just like most boxers as well.
As for all promoters are scumbag nah there are levels and some of the shyt that has come out about how dana handles business and phuks over his fighters are on a level even from boxing promotets. Just Google what's gone down, the slave contracts and listen to what all his fighters once they get out have to say about him. He's robbed them blind if I'm Mikey and I spent all the time to get my freedom last thing I do is sign with guy who's rep is for screwing his fighters at a rate we haven't seen in the history of combat sports. And he's just getting his foot in the door to boxing to boot. How many newbie boxing promoters have folded? Too many to count. Mikey can stay independent work directly with haymon and showtime. If he jumps to a promoter it better be to an established player in boxing who you know will be around in the future.Comment

LOL wut?!?! Selling off? Why would you sell off guys you manage? He's getting his 20% if Wilder or Charlo or Broner or whoever fights on the f#cking moon being promoted by Aliens.
And Haymon HAS FAILED at w/e that original mission was. Where are the free major TV fights at. They were doing Showtime shows from the start. Now ALL their major shows are on Showtime virtually. Whatever the plan was its been pivoted to a new one. You can speculate what it is, but idk that its clear enough yet to say.
And hell maybe it is just to wait & see if Fox quits f#cking with the UFC & picks up PBC Boxing as I seen at least one cat I respect here suggest, but idk I'm not really seeing it.Comment

Dude back to making up lies the WBC orders the purse bid not the fighters. They order the fight if both sides can't make a deal a purse bid is enforced regardless. Stop with the duck tales that Linares told them not to order a purse bid. That's not how it works and nobody but your Crack head azzz has reported that. Only thing reported and has been confirmed by wbc themselves for why the fight hasn't been enforced yet is that Mikey asked for permission to fight someone else and the wbc granted it delaying any purse bid from being ordered. So either post a link from wbc stating Linares is the one who told them not to or shut the phuk up clown.
WBC at some point will order a purse bid but if dana don't want to work with oscar like he said it means nothing. Too many examples of a network/promotet/adviser not allowing a fight to happen and throwing a belt in the trash even after a purse bid. Your boyfriend haymon famously made quillin turn down a career payday just because he didn't want to let him fight on roc nation. LMAOLast edited by bigdunny1; 02-27-2018, 03:07 AM.Comment

What exactly is the agreement? Whats the master plan? Whats the upside for Haymon?
Again I don't think you understand how this works. Haymon is a manager. Why would he sell off guys that he gets 20% if they fight on Showtime or HBO or ESPN or w/e & if they are promoted by DiBella, Dana or Oscar or w/e? That makes no sense at all.Otherwise it don't make sense dana is looking to start his own thing and haymon will just be selling guys off he won't have any say.
The UFC didn't "buy fighters". The UFC brought promotions & therefore got the fighters contracts. There is nothing like that that you can do in boxing with a manager. Dana could buy out Bob, Oscar, DiBella or Kathy Duva, but a promoter doesn't need a manager to sign off on his client to promote that guy.Like UFC has done by buying up fighters from other en****** in the MMA world.
Idek the master plan really anymore with the PBC. They did a sh^t job at become "Premier" anything. They got all these names who never fought. Granted they made some good fights, but the WBSS has done a better job in less then a year at getting & keeping fans excitement than PBC did in almost 3 years now.Hard for me to see haymon spending all the time and money to have full control and just give it all away.
Like I said there are issues with the UFC, but its not the money being paid for fights. MMA & Boxing are structured differently. Saying boxers get x so MMA guys should get x is ignoring these sports don't operate the same. Go google Affliction & Pride & about them paying fighters "what they are worth" or "like boxers" that led to their downfall directly or indirectly. As for all promoters are scumbag nah there are levels and some of the shyt that has come out about how dana handles business and phuks over his fighters are on a level even from boxing promotets. Just Google what's gone down, the slave contracts and listen to what all his fighters once they get out have to say about him.
Agree. And Zuffa Boxing will have a high chance of failure too. Getting into the game when guys got slave contracts in boxing too means its hard to sign talent & if the UFC can't get talent they are gonna be looking like Evander Holyfield Promotions with no name guys doing club shows which I'd argue isn't worth the time for the UFC.How many newbie boxing promoters have folded? Too many to count.
Who's saying he shouldn't?Mikey can stay independent work directly with haymon and showtime.
If he signs to a promoter that folds that'll likely just mean his contract is voided anyway so idk if it matters. But fair enough I guess. Seems more of a w/e stance cuz I don't think Mikey signs with anyone anyway anytime soon & without some big fight looming. And I can't imagine Dana being able to make a big fight for Mikey with most of the players with other promoters already. If he jumps to a promoter it better be to an established player in boxing who you know will be around in the future.Comment

How about instead of calling me a liar, if you don't understand something, ask me for clarification and see if we can find common ground before you become so hostile.
Linares is not a normal mandatory. He was named champion in recess, which guaranteed him a title shot in his first fight back. When he asked the WBC if he could maintain his mandatory status, despite his desire to face the WBA champion in his first fight back, the WBC allowed the diamond title to be at stake in his return fight, so that if he won, he could still retain his right to an automatic title shot whenever he wanted. The problem is that fight after fight after fight, he refuses to face the WBC champion, which is why the WBC is finally ordering a purse bid next month.
Again, if you don't understand something, ask for clarification instead of resorting to childish insults. There's no reason this website has to be such a cesspool of low class idiotic barely literate conversation. We can strive to be better. They order the fight if both sides can't make a deal a purse bid is enforced regardless. Stop with the duck tales that Linares told them not to order a purse bid. That's not how it works and nobody but your Crack head azzz has reported that.
I didn't say Linares told them NOT to order a purse bid, I said Linares never asked them to order a purse bid. That is an important distinction. As long as neither party is pressing for the fight, the WBC will often sit back and let them do as they please until so much time has gone by that the WBC is forced to act. Linares has had a guaranteed immediate title shot for two straight years and has never asked for the fight to be ordered. That doesn't mean he went out of his way to ask for it not to be ordered, it just means he's never forced the WBC's hand because he's never requested the fight.
No that's not what the WBC said. We've been over this before. Mikey didn't need permission to fight someone else, he needed permission to fight in a different weight class. That request had nothing to do with Linares. If Linares had demanded the fight, Mikey's request to fight in another weight class would have been denied.Only thing reported and has been confirmed by wbc themselves for why the fight hasn't been enforced yet is that Mikey asked for permission to fight someone else and the wbc granted it delaying any purse bid from being ordered.
I've seen your quotes from the WBC and they don't say what you're claiming they say.
I speak to the WBC president several times per week and have done so for years. Is it possible I have a little more understanding of the situation than you do?Comment
