Depending on the severity of the injury and level of surgery this could bode poorly and unfortunately for Groves. I mean look at Thurman, poor guys has had a year to recover and he isn't ready to fight a championship level fighter..

Danny Williams knocking out Potter while fighting one-armed remains one of the highlights. Anyhow, too bad for Groves; shoulder injuries are not easy to deal with.

Think we all knew this would happen. Hopefully they approve it, would be shambolic otherwise unless another world champion steps in.

Winner of Uzcategui/dirrell vs Smith in June if WBSS don’t approve extension with winner fighting groves afterwards sounds good also

On one of the IFL interviews last week Kalle said they could do 2 weeks only. Be interesting to see what they say.

Shoulder surgery for boxers can take up to 18 months to regain including full rehabilitation. I am afraid we have seen the last of Groves.

Eubank was prophetic when he said "I will retire Groves". #SAD

July?!?! Dude is having shoulder surgery in damn near March (maybe March idk) & he'll do rehab + be good to go + do a training camp in 4mos???

That seems like a tight schedule best case. I'm a lil 50/50 on the WBSS being cool with this vs putting in a sub cuz who knows if Groves will even be good in July realllllllly?

I think calling Eubank Jr, Ramirez or Benavidez is probably the play as sh^tty as it'll be to not have the 1 seed, who earned his way, in the finals. I'm sure they'll be cool getting ~$4M to fight Callum Smith.

Ticket sales & PPV numbers will suffer + Groves is a Sauerland guy so he's got some edge there to I'm sure so I won't be surprised if the WBSS lets him, but wouldn't be surprised if they don't either.
