I think you read the article wrong. It didn't say it's as big as Lewis vs. Klitschko. It said it's the biggest US heavyweight fight since Lewis vs. Klitschko.

If you disagree, which US heavyweight fight since Lewis vs. Klitschko do you believe was bigger than Wilder vs. King Kong?

So Ortiz went pro at 40 years old?

And in the amateurs, when he clearly looks like a very young man in his 20s, he was actually in his mid 30s?

its rather unfortunate much credit is not been accorded to this fight because of Ortiz age.
If Wilder decides to think the same way, Ortiz might cause a surprise.

This guy gives props to a Sadam Ali vs Liam Smith fight but wants to sh.it on this fight between 2 of the top 4 HWs at the moment

Yup definitely not biased at all

            This is a great fight

Decent article think the author fight for the most part except saying Crawford is the 2nd biggest American fighter in the sport

I hardly believe this fight is any bigger than Vitali -Arreola, Vladimir -Jennings, Vladimir -Brewster, Vladimir -Ibragimov..

Do we really need to make a list of the dozens if not hundreds of huge fights that didn't sell out?

Not to mention the fact that the fight sold over 500 tickets today alone, now has less than 1,000 tickets remaining, and looks like it may actually sell out.
Tyson vs Lewis tickets were ridiculously high , Tennessee is hardly known for its boxing anyway.

Lewis was not a big draw but certainly not hindered like Wilder .

If you cant sell out a HW title fight in N.Y venue with cheap tickets thats a HUGE problem .

I would agree , ppl have to realise theres no clear cut winner here .

Klitchkos were certainly favored to win in all their fights ,on U.S soil or not during their dominance .

Ticket sales dont dictate importance to the fight ITSELF ...... blame that on Wilder and Ortiz for that matter .

Off hand the article is probably correct .

It's one of the most successful fights in history. Many of the most successful fights in history didn't sell out. The previous poster claiming that a fight can only be big if it sells out looks pretty silly when the biggest fight in history didn't sell out. It's a ****** criteria.

No, the huge problem is that you constantly post false information and don't take any responsibility for it.

There are less than a thousand tickets remaining and many of them are $800 tickets. Since when is that a cheap ticket? You just make things up. Constantly.

It's going to wind up being one of the most successful boxing events in the history of Barclays.

                      Blame them for what?

You live in an alternate reality. You just make up whatever you want and pretend people can't fact check you. You seriously have nothing better to do with your life? Than to troll a boxing board with a bunch of made up nonsense?
