How can Mikey blame Top Rank for not making Spence-Crawford down the line when Mikey has already said clearly he's going to beat Spence this fall and ruin that fight anyway? It's not up to Top Rank anymore because Mikey is about to beat Errol Spence fall 2018!!! Right Mikey???? Right????

This guy is the most all talk no action boxer in the sport since Floyd and Ward. But I guess that makes sense since he said his goal is to be the next Floyd. Figures.

Can someone tell me why Top Rank would sign an exclusive deal with ESPN? Surely it would have made sounder business sense to sign with either of the two already well established PPV platforms.

This only makes it more difficult to make fights that fans want to see. I would like to see boxing reformed in a similar way to other sports where players have agents, managers etc, but all sanctioning bodies would be required to sign an exclusive deal with one media outlet for PPV, one for free to air, and one for online streaming, which will never happen, as the politics and business divide in boxing keep growing exponentially.

I think we would all "like" boxing to be completely different. But the I have yet to see anyone listen to the average fan. I want about three of the sanctioning bodies to go belly up and titles actually mean something again. But....

Top Rank signed an exclusive deal with a network that reaches nearly 100 million homes by Nielson numbers if you include estimates for streaming services. This is more than HBO (approx. 41 million) and Showtime (28 million from 2012 is the latest figures I can find, probably a little more by now, so let's go 30 million) combined. It was a sound business decision which puts his company in a great position to attract more talent and get his fighters more exposure than on any other platform. As for PPV, that is a solid point. But Arum understands how those work and Top Rank did one with Manny all on it's own before, no HBO or Showtime backing. They can definitely get a PPV platform working with ESPN.

As for working with other companies, I think that is up to us the boxing fan. Reward companies when they do cross over with each other with ratings and PPV buys, and important matches like Spence-Crawford will happen. By the way, I think the fighters have a lot to do with this, and neither one of those boxers will avoid the other. If they both want it, I think it will happen. Than, we need to reward them and make it ****** profitable.
