Porter hates losing like all boxers do. He and Spence both fought Brook and look at the difference..

        why?

focusing on one route is the best way to get a title shot.

his current course gets him a title shot the quickest, against the unified champ, and for the most money. seems like a no brainer.

To be fair porter fought a much tougher version of Brook than Spence did.

I agree that Porter should fight Garcia to get a shot at Thurman. Meanwhile, as that goes on Thurman can get his bumback fight against a nobody to set up a title fight at the end of the year.

Winner of that title fight should fight Spence January next year in a big unifaction. I fancy Spence beating them all..

Porter agreed to that, because it would have been an interim title fight and winning would have maintained his guaranteed shot at Thurman, while granting him a higher percentage of the purse.

Danny turned down the fight because he didn't want to return until 2018 and wanted his first fight back to be a tune up.

Thurman is the unified champion. He's the money guy in the division, at least in the PBC universe (I realize Pacquiao is a bigger name).

Why should Porter be criticized for wanting the top guy? He's fought and won two eliminators to guarantee himself a shot at the top guy.

The time will come next near for the WBC/WBA champion and the IBF champion to unify. Spence will get the big fights. But he's not the top guy right now, Thurman is, so understandably guys will be chasing Thurman, not Spence.

I think he really wants to avenge that loss to Thurman. Maybe thinks beating Garcia will get him his shot, he sees Garcia as an obstacle. I doubt he is ducking Soence. Despite popular opinion, I don't think Thurman is an easy fight for anyone and not much if any easier than Soence. Thurman moves more, has better footwork and is a little quicker on the draw.
