Adonis Stevenson: I'm The King, Not My Fault Kovalev Pulled Out

“It’s not my fault when Kovalev pulled out. It’s not my fault when Hopkins went on HBO. That’s the game. I don’t care and I don’t listen to people like that. I’m the king of the light-heavyweights. When you’re the king, for sure you’re going to be criticized. You have people who don’t like that. People talk, talk, talk. You can talk, but I’m still the champion.”

Stevenson's promoter, Yvon Michel of GYM, backed his fighter - stating that it's very hard to get A-level opponents to face Stevenson.

“The division isn’t only Kovalev or Hopkins. It’s deep and talented. He has fought anybody willing to get in the ring with him,” Michel said. “It’s just a perception. He avoids Kovalev, which isn’t the case. He avoided Hopkins? Not the case. Pascal? They all had opportunities to fight him and all turned it down. To cover, their promoters and themselves kept pretending it was the other way around. It seems to be a pattern, people turning against Adonis.”

Stevenson ran to Showtime truly ducking the fight. Stevenson only has himself to blame for people turning on him. Look at his (lack of) competition since running to showtime. Compare that to Kovalev's. Kovalev made him irrelevant without even laying a finger on Aduckinson. Lol

I would agree with Chickenson and his fans that injected this 'Kovalev is ducking' narrative IF Kovalev had any history of pricing himself out. Kov was the title holder in the first Ward fight, yet how much did he get, probably 10% of what Ward got.

When Kov beat Pascal, Adonis climbed up in the ring in the post fight when he heard Kov calling him Chickenson chanting 50/50! Don't even know where in hell did he get that Kov wanted more than 50. hbo refused adonis fair ask..he didnt ask for millions more he asked for 100k more...showtime accepted hte same deal...he took it back to hbo and told them too match it and he'll stay...hbo refused to match...WHO IS THAT RUNNING? that is called business and getting wat you are worth...hbo screwed up

i do hate lineage duckers..i hate him and ward...adonis wwent after lineage and put the biggest x on his back..he gave kov 4 different fair times to fight him..kov refused each time...ward has refused since 2013...this has held the great 175lb division up
