Man this site gets a lot of DUMMIES who fall for everything Arum says. He secured the location before the fighters. Thats because he already has the fighters ready. Its just NOT going to be Linares. This was a ruze since day 1.

HBO offered MORE for the fight. Which puts MORE $$$$ in the fighters pockets. No wonder why soo many Top Skank fighters end up BROKE and have tax problems.

What sounds like a better fight on the 12th???

              Loma vs. 7 loss Beltron???

Or seeing GGG or Canelo win again AND Liam Smith vs. SADAM Ali???

Easy one for me! I dont know who is gonna win against Smith/Ali bit I know DAMN sure Beltron is a punching bag, glorified sparring sesion

It's not just about wanting to be their own boss, and is has A LOT TO DO WITH THE PROMOTER! Once they saw how the promoter was ripping them off, they didn't trust promoters! Who would?

                  January 27, 2017:

"I started to notice a pattern in the way the negotiations would go down [with Top Rank] after I beat Orlando Salido," Garcia said.

Garcia claimed that Top Rank would not pay him the full negotiated amount after several fights, saying his opponents were to blame for a reduced purse.

"It was always a fight with them. I took a $100,000 pay cut on the Rocky Martinez fight, and I got about $150,000 less than what I was promised for the next fight. It started to add up," Garcia said.

While Garcia was unhappy with Top Rank, he figured his contract with the company would expire on Feb. 27, 2014, and he would be able to sign elsewhere. Top Rank, however, told him his contract automatically renewed following a title win or a successful title defense, which Garcia said would indefinitely keep him under an outdated deal he signed in 2009. So Garcia sued the company on April 8, 2014, and it took two years for the case to go to court. In the interim, Garcia made several unsuccessful attempts to resolve the matter with Top Rank as he remained inactive and helped his brother and father at the gym.

Following an unfavorable trial hearing, Top Rank was more open to a settlement and eventually came to terms with Garcia, who was freed from his contract without any compensation last April. Garcia agreed to the deal after denying Top Rank's request for confidentiality.

"I didn't feel I did anything wrong, but I was willing to pay to get out of my contract so I could get my career back on track, but they were never interested," Garcia said. "I thought the process would take a year, but after we got past a year, I was too invested not to see it through. After depositions, they offered to let me buy out my contract, but it was too late for that. I wasn't going to pay anything. I was going to show them that this little Mexican wasn't going to be some kid that they can just push around and do whatever they want."

It sure seems that way! Oscar and Arum are both shady, but I haven't seen a response from Top Rank, as to what Oscar had to say on Twitter:

                    February 15, 2018:

De La Hoya took to Twitter on Thursday to offer his thoughts on the situation.

Here’s what the retired six-division champion posted through an account that has 1.81 million followers:

1., Over the last days, there has been a lot of rumor and speculation about the potential fight between jorgelinares and VasylLomachenko. The facts are pretty clear.

2., jorgelinares wants this fight. GoldenBoyBoxing wants this fight. Mr. Honda wants this fight. And collectively we are doing everything we can to get these two champions into the ring.

3., We know of no bylaw, Ukrainian holiday or “magic day” in the words of Bob Arum that mandates that VasylLomachenko can only fight one day during the spring and summer month – May 12th.

4., While jorgelinares is happy to fight on any other date of the calendar, if VasylLomachenko absolutely, positively must fight on the 12th, we have a solution.

5., HBO is willing to pay more for the fight than is currently being offered. And they would do it on May 12th.

6., So, VasylLomachenko has three options. 1) Fight on May 12th on HBO 2) Fight on any other day on the calendar, 3) walk away from the fight all the fans of the sport want to see. I am hopeful he chooses one of the first two.

De La Hoya’s six Tweets on Thursday were in response in part to what Arum told BoxingScene.com earlier this week and Yahoo! Sports on Thursday.

By Keith Idec - Oscar De La Hoya has drawn his promotional line in the sand. On the opposite side stands Bob Arum, his former promoter and current competitor. W

                      Neither side is 100% right.
The fact that people still take sides is what is wrong with boxing and why we will never improve the situation.

Why can't the fight just happen at a different time than the replay?
Arum also has to be open to have fights on HBO. He is just costing opportunities for his fighters.

At the end of the day we, the boxing fans, lose.
