He's right, but what he's forgetting to say is that even if he wanted Loma to fight on HBO, it can't happen. All of TR fighters have an exclusive contract with ESPN. Don't give arum that much credit.

"Exclusive contracts" always have outs for big PPV's and extenuating circumstances like title unifications. I do not think this applies, so yeah ESPN is not letting one of the three Top Rank names (Lomachenko, Crawford, Pacquiao) go to HBO or anyone else without serious compensation.

HBO has deep pockets but way fewer eyeballs than ESPN and ESPN can easily get in the ballpark of HBO money and offer way more publicity with Sportscenter features and ESPN Radio spots. It adds up to your point: There is no way Loma fights anywhere but on ESPN on the 12th because the exclusive contract is way better than a one time shot on HBO.

They did great things for Showtime? Stole their fighters, where they actually got the exposure they needed and big fights? Look what happened with Wilder when they moved him away from Golden Boy and Showtime to Haymon's PBC. He's the joke of the heavyweight division.

The fights Haymon throws out for free are mostly trash, an insult to hardcore boxing fans. Rarely do we see evenly matched top fighters, never elite.

He's never in court? You're sounding like everyone else treats their fighters badly all the time. Haymon is a snake. He pays his big names well but matches him with bums most of the time. That only hold them back and destroys their careers.

Haymon isn't all over TV. Okay, that's true. I don't see why it's an advantage. He doesn't steal any limelight because he doesn't even have a light bulb!

Say what you want about Don King but he created superstars. Haymon creates "it's up to my manager, I don't wanna say any names and also THANK YOU AL HAYMON no I don't want to fight that guy now maybe later when the money is right" sheep nobody even knows.

Nobody knows who Spence, Thurman and Wilder are. So good job Al Haymon for not stealing their limelight and giving them big fights. Really worked well.

Al Haymon has been a blessing to Showtime, and he still is! Ask Espinoza, he'll tell you! Ask Bob Arum, and he'll tell you too! Sorry, I can't overlook what Don King did to Ali and Tyson, and so many more! I think PBC/Showtime is working very well. I look forward to March 3rd (Wilder and more) , March 10th (Garcia and more), April 7th (Lara vs. Hurd), and April 21st (Broner vs. Figueroa), May 19th (Stevenson vs. Jack), and June 9th (LSC vs. Mares II)! I think Joshua vs. Parker will be on Showtime too! So it's all good for me, and I don't have to spend a dime! Even Bob knows when it's time bow down:

yeah, they all left arum to become their own boss. it's not like they left arum to go be with another promotor. guys like oscar and floyd, regardless of who the promotor is, they're gonna go out on their own sooner or later because that's just how their mind works.

has nothing to do with arum or any promotors, those 2 guys have the mindset of doing shiiet their way. so by them leaving, has nothing to do with arum because they're gonna leave eventually when they get big enough to go out on their own, which they did!

In 2006, in their last fight together, Mayweather fought Zab Judah in his first welterweight title bout.

The entire promotion skewed toward a younger audience and made some breakthroughs by focusing on urban markets. Arum said he didn't grasp it.

"I didn't realize it until after he had left," he said. "I didn't think the Judah fight really (had a significant impact). Again, I was at the helm, and I didn't know how to tap that audience."

Thirteen months later, without Arum's involvement, Mayweather defeated Oscar De La Hoya in a 2007 bout which shattered all boxing revenue records to that date.

"Later on, after the De La Hoya fight, the needle really moved for him," Arum said.

oscar and floyd was gonna go out and be their own boss sooner or later. has nothing to do with promotors. if they left arum because he was ripping them off and it has nothing to do with them wanting to be their own boss, then why didnt they leave and sign with another promotor???
