I signed my part of the deal a month ago but things have changed and I want to update and apologize to my fans. The date for my next fight has been changed do to the fact that Brook is having trouble signing his end of the deal. Yeah but Brook wasn't happy getting paid lesser than Vargas.. can't blame him though.. he was the main event and hometown boy..

I know the reasons for why it happened, but I hated that fight from the get-go.

It's amazing how quickly a fight can happen when a guy is challenged by a smaller man, whereas it's so damn hard to get a peep out of them when they are challenged by a bigger man.

Or when a guy his size pulls out of a fight at the last second after everything is agreed to. Nobody went chasing down the Brook fight

Nope didn't force him. But didn't have to fight a welterweight. Picking on guys 2 division lower isn't good for the sport as we're now seeing.

It was good enough for Hopkins, Mayweather and Canelo who picked on guys two divisions lower.

This is the one we're talking about. I have a video of Eddie Hearn saying he wasn't trying to get the Spence-Brook fight. So post you proof showing Hearn tried to make the Brook-Spence fight after Algieri. After Spence called Eddie out on his lie about the fight Hearn changed his tune

Team Spence suddenly insisted on fighting 41 yr old Bundu first before taking the Brook fight.
It's mandatory doe. That was the tone in their camp.
What the hell happened with all those call outs
before and after the Algieri fight?

Hearn said he was working on both fights simultaneously and thought he had both done. He had made a deal with Top Rank for Vargas and Top Rank in turn cut a deal with Vargas under which he was to receive $1.7 million of the $2.2 million Hearn would pay Top Rank.

It was not easy to get done as Vargas sought extra perks in addition to repeatedly upping his asking price until agreeing to $1.7 million and signing a contract to fight Brook.

So he agreed to the fight just like I said right?

"I really wanted to make Brook-Vargas," Hearn said. "Vargas wanted so much money, and rightfully so, so we agreed to pay Top Rank the $2.2 million, plus 50 percent of the U.S. TV rights [for a fight HBO planned to televise]. When we looked at the financials of the show we probably needed to do 350,000 pay-per-view buys [on Sky Box Office in the U.K.] for Brook to make the right money, similar to what Vargas was getting. I don't believe it would have done that because nobody [had] heard of Vargas in the U.K."

So once again the fight was agreed upon. Right?

Then Brexit happened, as the United Kingdom voted in June to exit the European Union, a move that sent financial markets haywire and crushed the value of the British currency.

Hearn estimated that the impact of Brexit would probably cost him about $300,000 on the Brook-Vargas deal, so he went back to Top Rank chairman Bob Arum, explained the situation and said he needed to reduce the money.

"Now we had a little less than $2 million and asked Jessie to take 10 percent less," Arum said.

I like how you convientley cut off the end of tha Arum quote. If you gonna post the quote post the whole thing. I'm not one of these other posters who don't check their facts before posting. This is the rest of that quote

even if GGG vs Eubank had not been cancelled chances are Vargas/Brook never happens because Vargas wasn't likely to accept a less amount than he thought he was getting. he himself admitted to that.

Please show me where Vargas has said that. Hearn didn't know what Vargas would've accepted because Hearn never got back to them. And out of Hearns own mouth he said even if Brook-GGG couldn't get made he was still going to do the Brook-Vargas fight. You are severly misinformed
