GBP is with HBO. HBO is one who wants the replay on the 12th. Just for GBP to take Linares to ESPN is more than enough, but they can't ask HBO to **** on their date too! GBP's deal with HBO would be in danger! Add to that, GBP/HBO is expecting Garcia vs. Linares this summer. What if Linares lost to Loma? HBO would lose twice! No Garcia and No Lomachenko!

ESPN would want something in return for Loma fighting on HBO. I would say Pacquiao vs. Matthysse, in April, on ESPN, and Linares vs. Lomachenko in May, on HBO. However, Bob says Matthysse "is not gonna happen!"Comment

gbp is with hbo but aside from Canelo, no golden boy fighter has an hbo exclusive contract. It's on a fight by fight basis so they can legally fight elsewhere. From my viewpoint, hbo is gonna make as much money as they need on the 5th. The replay is just a way for the fat cats to line their pockets a little more. ESPN on the other hand can't move around the NBA playoff schedule. From. may through June they won't have any Saturday night time slots free. Which means we're gonna end up watching Loma make some other inferior fighter quit on the 12th instead of a match most of us want to see.GBP is with HBO. HBO is one who wants the replay on the 12th. Well you make great points but ESPN and Bob already know that the following Saturday after the fight is when they show the replay... So of course Golden Boy promotions isn't cool with that.I can understand if they were talking about having the fight on May 5 and going up against the ppv date but we're talking about the replay instead. Maybe if hbo wasn't feeding us so many **** fights, the replay date wouldn't be as big a deal for their ratings. Arum is a d*ck too but I understand espns stance more than hbo. They're gonna have a month straight of playoff basketball on Saturdays. If that's the only Saturday they have available, then I'd rather see Loma vs Linares than to wind up with loma vs beltran which is what will probably happen.
But I also suspect we're going to get Loma Vs Beltran instead.
IDK why they can't fight the Saturday before the Canelo fight??Comment

Golden Boy & HBO already had previously arranged plans for that particular date. Top Rank are aware of those plans and are being equally inflexible about the date. Probably because Top Rank would prefer to match Lomachenko against another in-house fighter anyway. This way they get to have their cake and eat it too, making it appear as if they made a genuine attempt to negotiate the fight against Linares.Comment
