But I also suspect we're going to get Loma Vs Beltran instead.
IDK why they can't fight the Saturday before the Canelo fight??
true, the Saturday before would make sense if it's possible. If not, we won't get Loma Vs linares because I doubt Bob is gonna wait until the NBA playoffs finish in late June.

Why should anyone who is going to pay for Canelo-GGG 2 care about this excuse? This is not the same as dueling cards.

ESPN on the other hand can't move around the NBA playoff schedule. From. may through June they won't have any Saturday night time slots free. Which means we're gonna end up watching Loma make some other inferior fighter quit on the 12th instead of a match most of us want to see.
If you're with TR, you're with ESPN. If you're with GBP, you're with HBO. What you want is a talent trade. Unfortunately, a) HBO and TR have a very bad relationship, and b) What does HBO gain from allowing Linares fight Lomachenko on ESPN? Arum has talked about trade with Showtime, and it has been reported here on BScene:

        December 7, 2017:

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum has made it no secret that he's no fan of the current leadership at HBO Sports, but he's more than willing to have a working relationship with Showtime and their parent company, CBS.

Earlier this year, Arum's company parted ways with HBO and signed an exclusive multi-year agreement with ESPN.

However, there are big fights to be made with fighters who may be contracted elsewhere.

For example, one of Arum's star fighters, Terence Crawford, is heading up to the welterweight division - but the bulk of the welterweight talent, and the welterweight champions, are tied to Showtime.

Arum has no problem with working out a talent trade relationship with Showtime Sports head Stephen Espinoza - an arrangement where the two sides would make talent available to each other for necessary fights.

The veteran promoters realizes that it's not realistic to believe that every significant fight involving one his boxers will end up on ESPN.

Maybe Crawford fights a Showtime fighter like Keith Thurman on ESPN, but an ESPN fighter like Manny Pacquiao would fight Danny Garcia on Showtime.

That's the kind of relationship Arum is aiming for - a scenario that benefits both sides.

"Lets not look at promoters particularly, lets look at networks. Over at Showtime, Espinoza is a very smart guy. And his boss is a very big fight fan, a good friend of mine, Les Moonves, and Moonves will make these fights happen. They can't all be on ESPN nor can they all be on Showtime - so there is something called trade," Arum told BoxingScene.com.

"The big boys, whether it's CBS, ABC, FOX, ESPN - they have no problem with college football... arranging who gets which game and so forth. I think it will be the same and it should be the same with Showtime, CBS and Top Rank - that if they need a Top Rank fighter to fight on Showtime, we'll make them available. And if there is a fighter who traditionally fights on Showtime or CBS, they will make him available to ESPN.

"I think that we'll work very, very well with [Showtime, CBS] - at least that's my hope."

In a perfect world, that would work out great. But when arum is involved, nothing is that cut and dry. I see loma vs Beltran coming in may. Maybe Linares vs canpbell 2 in the UK.

The way things are going I say just make the Beltran fight first. I've been saying it for a while. Just make the Beltran fight FIRST.
Who cares if people complain. People will complain no matter what.
I don't want Loma to end up having his first fight in late May or June.

Fight Beltran in late April or early May then fight Linares in July/August. Simple solution.

Like I said before we will get Loma-Beltran fight this year no matter what. It would be better if they get rid off him first.

I don't think you'll see Linares vs. Campbell 2. Mikey has one last fight on his Showtime contract, which will be March 10th. As a free agent, he could go fight Linares on HBO this summer! GBP has said they won't make Mikey sign a long term contract to fight Linares, so if Mikey beat Lipinets, I think we'll see Linares vs. Garcia on HBO this summer! I think we will see Loma vs. Beltran on May 12th on ESPN, and then Pacquiao vs. Lomachenko on ESPN PPV in the fall!

Well let's hope they can work out a deal for loma -linares cause I really don't wanna see him fight Beltran. I like Beltran but I think Loma would beat him easy

I think the fight will still happen. Maybe later in May? I don't know if it's true or not but I think Bob Arum's team usually plans date with venues in advance? They might be locked in with MSG for that date.

That’s not the point though, GBP knows that more people will toon in for the replay of GGG-Canelo than Linares-Lomachenko. Why in h** would GBP do that to themselves, HBO, and most importantly to Linares?
