  • Pacquiao wants Matthysse. Arum says that's not going to happen.

Once again Manny gets punked by his master.

Thats your opinion that its a ****ty card and your entitled to it. Im looking forward to watching Crawford vs Horn and having Manny on the undercard is great even if hes fighting Alvarado. Say what you want about Alvarado but he has been in some entertaining fights. He likes to brawl so it should be entertaining if nothing else. Having 3 top welterweights on the same card and 2 of them are pacquiao abd Crawford that is a great card to me. Plus Crawford is #1 p4p he deserves to get paid and so does Pacquiao considering the amount of fans he brings to the table. Hes a household name worldwide and would sell 200k ppv's by himself no matter who he fights. Add in Crawford and Horn and you have a good ppv card

      • Way to p1ss on a man's parade Bob. This card is a huge let down for the average boxing fan. It should have read Pacquiao/Matthysse and Crawford/Horn rather than Pacquiao/Alvarado and Crawford/Horn. Lucas Matthysse was the fight that Manny wanted and us boxing fans wanted. Ah well, what a bummer but I'm still tuning in?

        • I hate what Arum did to Manny career after first bs loss to Bradley, which we know Arum set up.

          • They do the same shlt every time, they tease us with fights with Khan, Mattysee, etc. Then he fights Vargas, Bradley, or Horn....And Mannys stock plummets even further.

This would be a fantastic card on ESPN, even without a Matthysse. Two showcase bouts, yes, but at least with big names as the A-side.

At this stage, Pacquiao has nothing to prove and I'm sure the set up here is that he'll fight the winner of Crawford-Horn next. He probably wants a tuneup with as little punishment as possible. But the fact that this is on PPV is just absurd.

Well, it’s not like this PPV is gonna do big numbers. So I expect that fight to either get made next or never happen.

Unless Horn somehow pulls off the win. I guarantee you will see Manny once again duck the fight.

With Showtime/CBS investing into boxing the way that they are, the need for PPV is only there for actual PPV fights (the coming Wilder-Joshua fights, possibly Thurman-Spence, Floyd fights, and meaningful fights by the undisputed heavyweight champion).

If you honestly want to argue that Horn-Crawford and Pacquiao-Alvarado are fights that merit PPV, that's on you.
