I noticed that compubox numbers were way off too. I can't remember which round, but I counted GGG landing like 26 shots and getting credit for 12! That was crazy.

What actual stats? With statistics for percentage and effectiveness you can’t dismiss that. Boxingscene shows 49 more punches landed by Golovkin. So that’s 4 punches more per round. So what are those jabs? Bummelo has a 10% increase in powershots over Triple Gee. So how does a judge score 4 jabs vs 2 power punches per round? It can go either way yes? Let’s be honest, the draw was fair. Some people favor jabs over powershots from two beast like punchers. That’s rather odd for fans and judges would you say, to favor 4 jabs over 2 power shots?

      Here’s one per Boxingscene:

I think GGG's problem is he's not an "eye catching punches" fighter and his defense is mainly about blocking punches. That's what made his dominance over Canelo and Jacobs not clear to a lot of people.

-Despite Nelo landing the best "highlights" punches in the fight, GGG overall did more damage, outlanded his opponent IMHO.

-I think he clearly beat Jacobs.
Jacobs didn't land a lot of significant punches if you ask me.I disagree with people saying Jacobs did better than Nelo.

Nelo put more damage on GGG than Danny did, and Nelo's defense was on point (didn't got dropped).

Yet the decision is being contested by many fans. I think once again, people are giving too much credit to flashy fighters.
Jacobs landed punches mainly on GGG's arms and gloves while GGG methodically beat him down with his Jab and middle range work.
        Nicely said, I agree

GGG beat Canelo 7-5 and at worst 6-6 (but that's being generous to Canelo, a win for Canelo is too much in my view)

Jacobs I think did better than expected so people think because of that, he won, but I don't think just because he "tried hard" gives him the victory. I did score it 6-6 (being generous to Jacobs) and yet even with that he still loses due to the knock down.

        But nice post

          nicely said.

it's funny how compubox gets used when "their" fighter has better numbers, but when "their" fighter doesn't have better compubox numbers, it doesn't matter.

I agree with your analysis about blocking punches. I personally thought Jacobs did better than Canelo however. In any event Golovkin has an underrated defense. Of course your analysis is going to drive certain cult members on the forum crazy.

Therefore, 40 more punches over Bummelo isn’t a “dominant” win. Like I said, 3 punches more per round to Triple Gee. So which infamous punches were these? Jabs?

Whatever reason, Bummelo can easily match Triple Gees ratio.

Notice nobody ever dissected Triple Gee’s 40 more punches in detail. Why?!

The DRAW was fair. People should focus on what both fighters will do differently

                  And:

These guys base their punchstats off video and slow-mo etc. Now I'm not gonna vouch for their accuracy though I do believe they try to do an honest and thorough job (one of the dudes who runs the site used to post on here sometimes), nor am I gonna claim that punchstats are a reliable way of telling the story of a fight or determining the winner, but a breakdown has been done and it is an additional resource. Make of it what you will.

It's not just the punch it's also what the punch accomplishes. Golovkin's jab forced Canelo to retreat consistantly. Canelos power shots couldn't consistantly control Golovkin. He couldn't force Gennady to the ropes with his best punches. Ask yourself who spent more time with their back on the ropes. It was Canelo. Why?? One major reason was he couldn't deal with Golovkin's jab. Go and look at almost any Larry Holmes fight and see how important and effective a jab can be. Yeah ajab scores and yes a jab can count as much or more than a power punch if it accomplishes more.

Even that, it still shows Alvarez with a higher percentage accuracy than Golovkin in landed. No matter which stats we find online or through a network, Triple Gee did not beat Alvarez in accuracy. Therefore, Bummelo wasn’t recognized of a jab game in this fight. So his power shots alone still outweigh Triple Gee.

Even their stats have Gennady landing 5 more shots per round over Alvarez. So those were jabs yes? Why didn’t HBO easily just do highlights of all these jabs over Alvarez in their highlights video?

                      They can’t!

Again, the fight was a draw. People need to focus on adjustments in the rematch
