i dont know how you came to that conclusion lol. he fought 3 top fighters and lost to 2 of them pretty badly one of whom was 40 years old. Canelos a better all round fighter and that shouldnt be hard to see.

After studying Kellys skills over the course of his career I think that, tactically, the fight would go like this: Pavlik drinks himself into a stupor and pulls out of the fight with an injury, calls Canelo out, pulls out of the fight again, and then loses to BJS.

Truthfully, Kelly had a hellacious 1 / 2. Especially at mid to outer range. It would take Kelly keeping Canelo honest with a stiff, long jab, and I mean constantly. If Canelo ever were able to engage inside... game over. It would be a great fight, while it lasted. No scorecard needed here.

So I'm wrong then? Were you watching boxing ten years ago?

You're saying Canelo would outbox Pavlik with ease?

Don't you think he's a tad bit flat footed for that?

In comparison to Kelly? He sure isn’t.

Pavlik was just too slow for someone like Canelo. People think that foot speed is all that matters but Canelo’s in ring decision making and reflexes are significantly better than Pavliks. You dont need macho time feet when you think five times faster than your oponent and have a significant speed/reflex/skill advantage.

Canelo would just hang back, let kelly TRY to engage, agressively counter him and stay inside and eat him for breakfast and just dance circles around him with upper body movement .

As tough as Kelly was he would probably take a beating. You’re not going to beat Canelo with that style...and he doesn’t hit hard enough to make Canelo crumble. Canelo would counter that jab all night. Kelly would look completely outgunned and classes imo

Kelly was good but not THAT good.
