The real question is why is Margarito tainting his record with Manuel Gomez 28-10

COtto has the best 27 fight record in boxing period, if you can make a case against that please.... be my guest.

Chop Chop, Maussa, Bazan, Bailey are all former champions... Branco gave Gatti a run for his money, and had never been KOed, Ricardo Torres was 28-0 with 26 KOs. Pinto was a promising prospect prior to being demolished by COtto. Sosa Did fairly well against PBF for 12 rounds, Cotto demolished him in 4.

Come back with something strong or shut up! lol

Margarito is not proven, he has never beat a world class fighter.

I'm just not sold on him yet. Yes, Cotto has abusive power, but taking a fight with Paulie was abig ? in my book while Margarito is practically begging to get a world-class fight, but no takers.

begging to get a world class fight and actually fighting in them is the difference between Cotto and Margarito, Margarito is unproven, he was beat and nearly KOed by Daniel Santos, and has not beat any big names. Cotto has fought world champions, fighters that are known to be solid competition.

Therefore Margarito is more overrated bc Margarito is UNPROVEN!

Beating Cintron does not mean much, being that Cintron had 3 amatuer fights, had never ever boxed until he was 19, and relied soely on his power. it was his 25th professional fight and his 4 year of fighting experience(including amatuers).

It just seems to me that Cotto takes a three steps forward then one step back approach in his career. When Margarito and Cotto get a world-class fight near the same time, we will see what the fights will tell. Personally, I can't wait for Cotto to move up to 147...maybe they can fight each other?!

I don't know much about margorito except, everyone seems to be ducking the kid. I have only seen him fight once and he looked very powerful, but also slow. Cotto on the other hand I have seen fight, but against very limited opposition. The ref gave him the fight against chop chop. No rematch. What does that say about his character. Also Torres would have beat him if he had more time to train. Again no rematch. HMMM... I just thik his chin is to suspect and when he get's in with hatton or any other big puncher his day boxing days are over. Eventually he will be exposed. I know all u recians are hating , but it's just my opinion.

Torres knew about the fight 4 weeks prior to fighting, and had a easy fight about 6 weeks prior, so he was in great shape for that fight.

Chop Chop was getting man handled in the ring, it was only a matter of time. It was a premature stoppage, but Cotto won every round except one. Chop Chop was hurt and it was near the end. If you think Chop Chop had a chance, you should watch the fight again.

Well obviously macho u have never fought before, if u think 4wks is enough time to prepare for anyfight, let alone a championship fight, ur wrong. I think u need to look at the chop chop fight again, was chop even remotely hurt when the ref waved off the fight ? Nope I think personlly cotto was getting the better, but when chop started to use his head more, they knew what was gonna possoble happen. Do u think hbo would let that happen. My fault, let me guess, u think Delahoya beat sweet pea to huh ?

                      Well actually I have fought, I'm 13-2(9),

If you read my post about Torres I stated that he had a fight about 5 weeks before the Cotto fight, it was an easy fight, in which he had conditioned for. He found out about the Cotto fight 4 weeks prior meaning that Torres was in shape for that fight.

IN the Chop CHop fight, Cotto had one bad round, the body work that Cotto had done early on Chop CHop, was evident as early as the 4th round. Chop Chop was discouraged, he was hurt and was hurt twice in that fight. Cotto was outboxing and out fighting Chop Chop. As Emmanuel Stuart said, "the stoppage was premature, but Chop Chop had no chance".

ANd refering to the Whitaker/DLH fight, I though that DLH looked horrible in that fight, but did enough to squeeze out a victory. Its hard to look good against sweet pea, The only one to really look good against him was.....you know who But Sweet Pea did not do enough to win. The straight rights from DLH gave DLH the edge.
