Cotto is overrated........because there are pople who predict greatness for him, which I don't see. He's also been given a ton of exposure, more than I believe his talent warrants.

Margarito is overrated.....because there are people who think he'd smoke Mayweather, which I don't see. He's also constantly being spoken of, as this incredibly feared guy.....while I think it's just business.

Cotto is the better fighter of the two......but I feel given their abilities, they are both equally overrated.

Cotto is a great fighter, one of my favourites. he's only overrated by some of the PR bias on here who think that Collazo was "robbed" or that Tito was god incarnate.
      Collazo was robbed "mate"

why the mate in inverted commas?

I scored that fight 114-113 Collazo, but with all the close rounds going to Collazo. So calling it a robbery is simply not consistent with how boxing is scored. Nobody has showed me a credible scorecard with a Collazo win any more comfortable than the above, and I've accepted from DiegoFuego and others that Hatton could well have won a few of those close rounds. Hence the consistent scoring from the judges.

Cotto fought Corley, Maussa (who went on to win a championship after Cotto beat him), N'Dou, Torres, Branco these are all solid fighters albeit not elite.

However no one is saying Cotto is gonna destroy PBF, there are more people curious as to how Cotto would do against Zab or Hatton..........However Margarito's name is being thrown around with statments to the affect that he would destory PBF, Hatton, Cotto. The way people have been talking about Margarito I think everyone from Welterweight to LightHeavyweight is now DUCKING him.

I would definitely have to go with Margarito as the most over-rated.

well, lets see Cotto has fought Randall Bailey, Victoriano Sosa, Chop Chop Corley, Cesar Bazan, Mohammad Abdulaev, Maussa, Torres, N'dou.

WIth those names on his record at 27 fights he already has a better record than Margarito.

MALIGNAGGI...Nobody here with the exception of a handleful of VERY knowledgeable boxers knes Paulie...and Cotto said it himself with the trash talk, he said something like..."he can keep talking trash but after I beat him, he will disapear back into obscurity where he came from" or something like that. If Malignaggi is so obscure, why is Cotto tainting his record with a no-name?!!?!
