I mean, compared to the guys he's fought & yes "the distance" factor.... Stiverne held the belt, had some pride and it showed when he kept coming forward trying to land anything. Yes, Wilder piled on the points (I was rootin' for Wilder btw), but Stiverne wasnt going away - still throwing. In a heavyweight fight ANYTHING is possible at any time, jus like Stiverne taking Wilder the distance. To me, that fight proved a lot of what Wilder is made of, it showed his stamina, endurance, and calm against a "champion" in a fight that went "the distance" for the 1st time ever in his pro career - unflustered with an injury to boot.......he was even proud of himself as he should be.....Comment

I know what happened. Its the same thing that always happens when the guy they hate (mostly haymon connected) is fighting someone they used to say he was ducking or was deemed as a threat until the hated guy signs to fight. Then its hes old washed up or was a bumb. But after the hated guy wins and the beloved hbo type fighter fights him all of a sudden hes back to being a monster again.I don't know what's happened or where i've been but a year or two ago Ortiz was the most feared fighter in the HW division and Wilder was the most untested Champion, Ortiz has not been beaten and Wilder has not stepped up so I can't understand why Ortiz is now old and over it and it is public opinion that Wilder will stop Ortiz early... it may happen, i'd be surprised if it did... this is a live fight, if Wilder comes through then all respect to him but Ortiz i don't believe should be written off and I like him in this fight
For the record I want ortiz the obviously more skilled fighter to win but I will admit wilders doofy awkwardness and goofy power just may make the difference.Comment

Maybe its not fair to say, but too me Joshua hasnt fought anyone as dedicated, strong, & skillfull as himself, do we really have to rehash Wlads impromtu decision to test himself with a new uptempo "style" he's NEVER used before against a young hungry former gold medalist. King Kongs style & strength is unmatched against his opposition.
They're both tough "compared to" their opposition. Klitschko was his very best with E. Steward in his corner, without him guys like Corrie Sanders will have a field day against him......Ortiz is undefeated for good reason and seeing him against this older version of Wlad wouldve been a good barometer for Wlad, before facing a dedicated young gun who happens to be a champion......Comment

I think wilder gets him out of there within 7 but I wouldn’t be surprised if he blast him out very early.Comment

True, but at some point he's going to face a boxer that can take his best shot. You can't be overconfident when it comes to your ability to put ppl to sleep. I wonder how Wilder will react if Ortiz just keeps on coming forward and eats his punches like it's nothing.Comment

Exactly.....not everyone is KOable.....better be ready to work for 12rnds with some.......Comment

Yeah, sorta like that crazy Ali character and that Tyson dude. They NEVER talked themselves up....
Wilder is not as skilled as either of those two in their primes, of course (people forget how great of a defensive boxer Tyson was as he racked up wins). He is an unbalanced impatient crazed man when he gets excited. But I could care less about how he talks his trash. A ton of great boxers talked themselves up all the time- Hopkins, Mayweather, Clubber Lang....
Still, not loving the lack of focus this close to his biggest test. Ortiz puts a picture perfect uppercut or one of those short straight lefts into him, he could be out in three rounds himself.Comment

If that happens, Ortiz will be ringside March 31 watching Joshua/Parker with his shiny new heavyweight belt over his shoulder, sizing up his future opponents.Comment
