Oh, he's a beast - make no mistake about that... Very unique set of qualities with his relaxed yet aggressive style, size, really good eyes and great precision and leverage behind his short punches inside..
Reminds me of Howard Eastman... a bit of Bob Foster in him as well(Bob showed more versatility, but in his aggressive mode - like against Finnegan, he was similar).

He might not have a long career - if he's being put in back to back tough fights like this one - but for as long as he's physically fresh and his confident not dented... He's tough fight for anybody 154-160 - and must see TV as well - I'm big, big fan and have huge respect because he's everything you want in a fighter, true competitor.

The issue with his style is - every fight with top fighter will take a lot out of him. I remember Ray Mancini saying that he sacrificed longevity to make his mark in the sport. Hurd will probably be the same, he might not be around the top forever - but he can create true legacy in short space and leave his mark.

He reminds me of a bigger Antonio Margarito but a bit faster one. And yeah his face first style he wont be long forever but he can mark his legacy if he could actually do it with Charlo and Lara fights.

I think Hurd either wins by stoppage or judges give him the fight on aggression and making room for the new blood in boxing. Plus Hurd and Charlo is a bigger money fight for boxing. I like Lara a lot and he's tremendously skilled but being a little older, Hurd younger and bigger I just don't think he'll get the nod even if he out boxes Hurd for 12 rounds which Lara is definitely capable of.

The Angulo fight is kinda misleading. I think it Julian Williams was on the undercard and he said the ring was both small and soft which favored the puncher.

It's a close fight but I think Hurd can come from behind to wear Lara down and knock him out in a late round. Hurd is easy to hit but he has an iron chin, an iron will and great stamina. He just keep coming forward throwing his long strong punches and applying constant pressure. He gives his opponent no chance to rest at all. He wears them out and then he knocks them out.

Hurd is a big boy but this reminds me abit of Pernell against Vasquez, size might make it close but Lara should shade it. Hurd has no real defence.

Lara hasn't been using his legs lately I don't think he can hit and move for 12 rounds Hurd will wear him down with body shots break him down stop him late.
