And he will also be remembered for looking twice as big as GGG, and still being the one backing down most of the fight, and being the only one who was knocked down in that fight, even though he was so big.

This is naturally the fight the should be happening. It would create a no-doubt #1 contender to the Canelo-GGG winner. And create an anticipated clash in the fall. But that’s not the way boxing works. Boxing’s cashcow is competing in the middleweight division. Which means the top guys in there that division will likely avoid each other and not wanna potentially risk a career high payday. It is what it is.

BJS has the strap that GGG wants and a set of skills (not a whole lot of KO power) that Alvarez will be happy to take on after 2 straight fights with Golovkin. So, no matter who gets the win after the rematch on May 5, Saunders has himself a career best payday on deck. He has a no-worry stay busy fight to keep his name out there against Martin Murray and has actually matured some in his interviews. Sounds very knowledgeable and seems ready for prime time. He will help sell tickets and do good PR. No reason to risk that against Jacobs. Danny Jacobs needs to find the best out there he can, be VERY busy, and force someone to give him another shot down the road. Right now he is all risk, no upside.
