More an indictment of the state of boxing in the US than it is of Joshua's popularity.

Wilder has defended his world championship on free network TV multiple times, garnering millions of viewers.
Wilder stars in a very popular cable TV reality show.
Wilder is clearly far more well known in this country than AJ is. Just as AJ is far more well known in his country.
The idea that nobody knows Wilder in the US is pretty silly considering his history as a strong ratings draw. Wilder's knockout of Stiverne went viral and helped make him far more well known as well.Comment

People's champ? GTFOH. You can't be serious. What people? Him and his homeboys? He is NOT the people's champ. He is an embarrassment to the history of heavyweight boxing in the US. The fact that he regularly talks out of his ass saying he would beat Ali easy, prime Tyson easy, still be on top in his 40's like Foreman just makes him less likable. People's champ my ass. More like people's chump.Comment

This is totally ridiculous. Nobody outside of hardcore boxing fans has a clue who Wilder is. Joshua is already an international superstar. That is a fact. It doesn't matter what you think about Joshua as a boxer or whether he is the real deal or not. He is way more recognized internationally than Wilder. You are delusional in your claims that Wilder is a big star in the US. Keep on riding the Wilder hype train. You are dramatically inflating his popularity.

Wilder fans girls rabbiting shyte, AJ is the people's champ, loved in middleast, china, Japan, Europe, Africa etc. Wilder is known only in Alabama fighting bums. At 40 fights, the Bellend with just one HW fight has a better resume, and that's a fact!Comment

back in the 70's there weren't 100 heavyweight championship belts.Comment

Please post your evidence that Haymon loves ********.
But that's twice as much. So that's actually selling a lot more.
Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder, if both are still undefeated, and fighting for the WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO undisputed heavyweight championship of the world, would easily do 250,000 buys. The public's fascination, and more importantly, the media's fascination, with crowning an undisputed heavyweight champion is immense and the coverage for the fight would be through the roof.Comment
