Casuals here don't know AJ at all. I've been doing a lot of talking to get my circle more familiar, and it's composed of guys who buy PPVs for boxing and UFC. He's a star in the UK and probably a lot of other countries, but not in the US.

Wilder isn't well known either by casuals. Anybody who says different is delusional. I will say that the KO of Stiverne went viral here and I got some questions about him. But that's not constant. His gf just premiered on this new reality show that's introducing him to a small female audience, but that's not a big crowd either. Another KO of Ortiz will go a long way imo.

I will add his US TV and live gate numbers are trending up. He has some momentum right now. Has to keep it going.

Back in the 70s 80s and 90s even non boxing fans could name the heavyweight champion. Now shhhhhht outside floyd and canelo they barely know who holds what belt in any division. He's right and by his logic nobody knows him either. 50-50

In Europe nobody knows who Wilder is. America is pretty irrelevant in heavyweight in last 15 years.

I’m not sure but is Wilder well
known in the US himself? Keep talking about AJ though and not focusing on Ortiz and you’ll be in trouble.

".... to be a global FORCE in boxing ..." ... what exactly does that mean?

Make more money? Known by more people? I expect Joshua is known in the USA by hardcore fans. Do casual fans know that Wilder is the WBC hw champ? .... and if they do how does that work out for him at the box office?

Wilder sounding a bit desperate here

'' All roads lead to Deontay Wilder because I am going nowhere, no time soon." - 'Bronze-Bomber'

Tha peoples champ has spoken. UK try keeping your chants down whilst King Deontay is in the building, I want to listen to the champs commentating.

Poor Wilder....Because the world is US right?

AJ is definitely known around the world for the Wlad fight alone. AJ is known around all of Europe which has a population of 700mil + and he probably has more fans in the states than Wilder does.

AJ has 5x the amount of twitter followers...

AJ beats him on every account in terms of earnings and popularity.

Sad but true. So why is it so important to fight in the States?

I think this is a case where Wilder should go overseas and KO opponents including AJ if he can. He might need to get international acclaim before he earns domestic acclaim.

The average sports fan not affiliated in any way with boxing or it's in the news with no neither one of them particularly I believe Wilder Joshua has fought throughout Europe and it's even traveled more than Wilder..

Well if they think either Canelo or Floyd hold a belt then they are truly lost
