Would he even fight someone like Jamal James who's outside the top ten?

I don't recognize any of the names from ranks 11-15 in any of the sanctioning bodies. I think its more likely Thurman will fight a jr welter or lightweight in his comeback fight.

Tune up, yeah! He haven't even been evaluated on his come back fight yet and he's already picking the second half line up.

why are ppl outraged we already knew this lol.

but my thing is how serious is that injury.. he was calling out pacquiao in april 2017. even saying this:

"At the end of the day we want that Pacman fight. I can't wait to negotiate that fight. Shoot, he can pick the date, he can pick anything he wants because I'm ready to put hands on him."

oh well. i love the social media era these fighters cant just pick an opponent with no backlash. boxers back then didn't have to deal with this sht when they picked bums and goat herders to pad their record. fans in this era are ruthless and expect big name fights every month lol.

A Top 20 guy first, a Top 5 guy second, and as long as we get the #2 guy afterwards, I have no problem with this.

Curious to see if he only defends one belt and pulls a guy that is only in the top 15 of the WBC or WBA and not both. If he does pick a guy that is top 15 for both organizations Jamal James, Konstantin Ponomarev and Kerman Lejarraga would fit as possible opponents. Otherwise we might be looking at somebody that's really a fringe guy like Samuel Vargas, Cesar Barrionuevo, or Valentyn Golovko

This is what he SHOULD do. Everyone is up in arms over nothing. He's coming off major elbow surgery. He shouldn't get in with a killer his first time back in the ring

uh yes he is, he had surgery and almost been out a year, thought this was common knowledge he should get a tune up
