You did and you may be right Hagler perhaps didn't though I'd say Hearns was still great and had arguably improved by 1985 (his two best wins Duran (84) & Benitez (82) came after Leonard in 81). But those two versions of those legends (Duran and Hearns) are clearly better than anything Floyd ever fought.

Its about longevity....and floyd fought and beat everyone he was suppose to. I'll concede to Hagler having the better two wins but outside of that floyd had the better resume and career. You did and you may be right Hagler perhaps didn't though I'd say Hearns was still great and had arguably improved by 1985 (his two best wins Duran (84) & Benitez (82) came after Leonard in 81). at he time of negotiations in the beginning YES Manny and Floyd were on equal footing. Floyd was no more or less than a draw than Manny was. That did decline after he got ktfo....They both were at fault. Thats aweful that you cant understand that. lolComment

whats so good about longevity if you have a poor resume? QUALITY OVER QUANTITY. the phrase that floyd fans hate to hear.
and noooooooo he didn't. racking up a bunch of b-level wins and faded elite fighters will never be enough to replace the a-level wins he let slip away. it just won't.Comment

well, let's see --
2009-2010, that's around then time when the first negotiation started right?
in 2009
floyd vs marquez = $1 mil
in 2010
floyd vs molsey = $1.4 mil
so 2009-2010 floyd = $2.4 mil
in 2009
pac vs hatton = $850k
pac vs cotto = $1.25 mil
in 2010
pac vs clottey = $700k
pac vs marg = $1.15mil
2009-2010 for pac = $3.9 milComment

actually, manny was ahead of floyd in terms of ppv buys.
so pac WAS the a-side.Comment

I really dont like the dude. But i dont let that cloud my judgment. As much as nobody will believe that. I have my reasons for it but from that I know there was never that many rumors of Floyd ducking DLH by going in retirement. The fight was close. By a point if i remember correctly. And at that time it was record breaking numbers and Floyd biggest pay day. Even though there was a guarantee rematch in the contract. That was only good if Floyd was still an active fighter. Why if the fight was so close and a good fight and it broke records and was the highest pay day...Why retire before a rematch that would have generated possibly more money and more PPV sales? Thats why i think what i think...just doesnt make sense to me.(The reason to duck DLH...Because Floyd knew how close he came to losing and If he could win again was in doubt. DLH also couldnt be bought nor needed Money. But was the company really an issue? Manny Pacquiao's team also said they were willing to use USADA as late as 2013 for the Rios fight. Here's proof of that:
It is a big difference when FLOYD not Rios is choosing the company. Lot of money involved in this. Trusting the right company is important. It was a smart business decision. Do you think they care what idiot will think they are ducking. Hell no. 100 of millions are on the line.
That was in the beginning though. Dont you think its kinda odd how fast the fight was made later? lol The shlt was a set up.
So this seems a bit like an excuse. They apparently didn't have any problem with USADA.
Sure, he can counter what Mayweather wanted, but he already did. Mayweather wanted testing up to the fight and Pac wanted 30 days. Mayweather gave into 14 days and he wanted 24, which you've already agreed was ridiculous. I think we can agree, like Roach, that the first negotiation seemed to be Manny's team's fault.
I agree with the blood negations was bullshlt and ridiculous. And also seemed suspect. made me go hmmmm too. But that was just part of the negations thats why im holding firm on placing both teams at fault.
I agree that having all PPV sales is bogus. But at what point was this made? This wasn't from the first negotiation. The first negotiation was 50/50 split. I'm not even aware of the other negotiations because I don't believe there were any. There was the 2nd negotiation which Arum all but admit was bogus because he never talked to anyone from Floyd's team. Then there was a reported phone call from Mayweather to Pac, and I thought that's when the no PPV thing came up, which again I think was a shlt offer. For me there was only 1 negotiation, when they had the contract for 50/50 and Pac skated out.
When Floyd agreed to 50/50 and the blood thing was worked out...there was then a issue with the PPV sales that derail it again.
Lol. Dude. You just said he ducked Cotto and Margs. Now you're changing it to he ducked De La Hoya whom he already beat. If I'm not mistaken, the rematch was supposed to be at 147...? He agreed to all of Hoya's demands for the first bout. Second bout would have been easier I think. He would have been given at least some more pull in setting it up because he won the first bout. That fight wasn't a split decision (in actuality, I mean). There was no reason to duck Hoya, but hey, only he knows for sure why it didn't happen I guess. I think he just was over boxing at the time and didn't want to fight. He was saying he was wanting to retire even before that. It's like Ward. These dudes get burned out and need a break. But again, only he knows for sure. I don't think most people rail on him for not fighting Hoya a second time.
