He should have bottled all them tears so he could polish the belt with them

      very nice touch

dorticos, as he has shown throughout his amateur and pro career, is tough as nails, as deserves big fights from here on out, and this fight raised his profile to help him do that

Sometimes I've heard cats taking it & mailing it back to the guy they beat once they get their belt. Other times I've heard of guys giving the belt back right away like Gassiev did.

Cool gesture all the same cuz I'm sure most boxers pass that duty on to some other guy on their team cuz it seems like it could be a awkward or weird thing.

One thing I've learned about Gassiev is that cat is a great winner. Its easy to brag & boast & talk all the sh^t & jump arond acting a damn fool when you won, but I like those cats who act like they've been there before cuz I think thats more how I'd act in a similar situation.
... the belt (I mean the very "object") belongs for good to the "champion"... So, Dorticos owns that specific belt (i.e. "object)... Gassiev will receive a new belt from WBA...

        ... that's how it goes...

Agreed. I am very interested to see what this crop of terrific cruisers can do in the Heavyweight division. Hopefully they can breathe a little life back in as the big boys are stagnating a bit.

Too bad Dimitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev are likely too small to effectively move up to cruiser or they could fill the hole that will be left when Usyk, Gassiev and Dorticos chase that heavyweight money north of 200.

It's a show of respect, surely the flidomites on here attacking this have never fought and gained respect for an opponent afterwards? If you have an issue with this then you can dive on your heads and knock some sense into your keyboard warrior mindsets.

Beterbiev fared pretty well against Usyk twice in the Ameteurs, and has beaten some bigger guys before.

The current crop of CWs will fare pretty well in the HW division, though I can't see any of them claiming that throne

That's interesting. Good look throwing that out. I didn't know Beterbiev fought Usyk as an amateur. I'll have to see if there is any footage online.

I agree with you that none of those top cruisers are likely to pull a Real Deal Holyfield in the Heavyweight division with these giant mothertruckers.

That's one of them from 2011

EDIT: Though worth noting Usyk is a much bigger man today than Beterbiev obviously

Much appreciated. Even though they grew to be different sizes, it's fascinating to check out the matchup so many years ago.
