Luis Ortiz continues to be, is. was and has always been the most feared and dangerous heavyweight contender in the division. That was the sole reason why Eddie Hearn side stepped him in favor of Carlos Takam.

Willder gets major props for having the courage in stepping up to accepting a challenge from him; After King Kong had threatened legal action, after he unsuccessfully appealed and petitioned the WBA in allowing him to challenge AJ for the WBA title but was subsequently denied and rejected.

Wow you are a poor liar, two reasons why Takam got the figh: he was second highest rated fighter after Pulev pulling out, also Ortiz was suspended at the time.
Now go away and spread lies somewhere else.

The WBA's mandatory took precedence over the IBF's mandatory. For example, As early as January 11, 2017, the WBA sent a resolution to both Wladimir Klitschko and Anthony Joshua notifying them that the winner of their bout would have 120 days to challenge Ortiz or face a purse bid.

In addition, Ortiz wasn't suspended by the WBA until Deontay Wilder had agreed to fight him after the WBA sanctioning body inevitably relented by capitulating to agreeing to Joshua's demands in defending his IBF title first.

However make no mistake about it. Before the suspension, King Kong had first dibs on Anthony Joshua's first title defense; Not the IBF ranked mandatories in Kubrat Pulev or Carlos Takam. Here's the proof: http://www.boxingscene.com/anthony-j...by-wba--119144

Irrelevant of the stories. Ortiz would have been next in line to face Joshua after he had taken on pulev (which became takam), he knew it and the world knew it. He chose to face wilder instead ; that was his choice - it obviously wasn't a financial one and maybe some day he will enlighten us to how that decision was made. You would think he must be confident he can beat wilder, although personally I have wilder asa strong favorite. I do think Ortiz is overrated and hyped, as he hasn't fought anyone of note either and his last couple of fights he has been extremely poor.

Having said all that, I do think it is a 'risk' on wilders part to take him on as just because Ortiz has looked poor recently/not taken on proper world class oppponents doesn't mean he won't know up in this fight. I still hope he Backs up this fight with another decent opppnent , I think whyte would be a great choice personally.

Spot on! Can you please explain this fact to Boksfan; Who appears to be too shaken up in denial or perhaps too afraid to even admit to this truth?

Let’s be honest Parker seems very wild and merely eeked out decisions when fighting real contenders. Ortiz has a very real chance, and would more than likely school Parker head to head. I could be proved wrong but Joshua should be way too much for Parker.
Right on point, Parker is a paper champ and the real boxing fans don’t really crave for that fight, Wilder vs Ortiz is the more intriguing fight, 2 names that the boxing world knows, no one really knows who Parker is and is not really that much of a threat in heavyweight division
