Comments Thread For: Danny Garcia: Everything I Do is For Philly, City Means So Much

Philadelphia-native and two-division world champion Danny "Swift" Garcia has thrived in the underdog role several times throughout a career that has seen him defeat a slew of top champions. Just like Garcia triumphed over Amir Khan and Lucas Matthysse in two of his greatest wins, Garcia's hometown Philadelphia Eagles will look to upset the odds this Sunday in Super Bowl LII against the New England Patriots.

Garcia has fought a unification with Khan as a clear underdog, fought the feared Mattheyse as a clear underdog and participated in a unification with Thurman as an underdog and took Lamont Peterson as a voluntary defense. Sure, he's taken some easy ones but folks act like the dude hasn't stepped up or proved himself and is a coward which is blatantly wrong.

Has there been any fighters from the past 40 years that have fought as many shot names as Danny Garcia has?

              I think it's a record.

Sounds cool, but its bs. If you're not in boxing for you & yours you're bsing. Sure maybe he gots supports for Philly & Philly cats cuz I love seeing Michigan Mfers excel & I feel connected to all things Michigan in & out of boxing, but I'm down for me first & foremost as is Danny. So like I said sounds cool, but its bs.

Actually you're blatantly wrong. Danny Garcia has been mostly inactive and taken on mostly cab drivers for years. You're giving this guy credit for 3 fights but not considering the level of competition he has fought in between.

You're actually okay with this **** cherry picking fight? You defend this crap?
