this is such an easy win for povetkin. he gets a highlight reel ko in front of joshua fans. then a big summer fight against aj. tons of money to be made. meanwhile bum squad will continue to hopelessly scream 50/50.

Hearn needs the public to see Povetkin, for whom it would be the very first time.

Povetkin needs to look extra dangerous.... Price needs his "shot" at stardom but mostly needs to be cashed out.

This is a win for EVERYONE!
That is exactly where I was going with this. I had long thought Joshua would fight twice this year before bringing Wilder over for the big humdinger. I kind of thought Povetkin might make more sense for Wilder if he decides to take another fight after Ortiz (I am betting he won't and will wait on Joshua), but this feels right. Povetkin is just good enough to pound Price who is still a name in England and set up a nice payday for Joshua after the Parker win. Two more home cooking gates, three belts, and then the Wilder gig.

Povetkin, as several posters have already pointed out, looked like crap in his last fight and has been so inactive. Serving Price up will give him a nice win but will pose no real threat to Joshua so long as he takes him serious.

Honestly, we agree on all except Povetkin.

Povetkin is far younger and in better shape to smack AJ around. In either case, it would be a really good payday for both and I would take Povetkin vs AJ any day of the week.

Povetkin DID NOT look like crap vs hammer and others. He was getting some rounds and work in. Keep in mind, Povetkin needs more work with taller guys such as Wilder and AJ. Plus hammer really was a huge brute with a strong chin.

Secondly, his training camp was very light for that fight. He said in multiple media interviews, for his fight with either AJ or Parker for the belt, he would go all in.

Anyway, AJ vs Povetkin works for AJ.

Even if AJ loses, AJ would STILL have the fight with Wilder available.

Price would insist on VADA testing, but is afraid he might get fatigued having to piss in a cup

            Who is Povetkin younger than?

And do you think Alexander Povetkin at age 38 could defeat Anthony Joshua who is 10 years younger? I agree that I prefer Alexander Povetkin vs Anthony Joshua more than Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder but it all depends on how good Povetkin still remains.

Christian Hammer was already stopped before so it's a question of if Povetkin really has the punching power required to bother the even bigger and stronger Anthony Joshua.

Do you reckon Alexander Povetkin can beat Anthony Joshua right now?

No, I think AJ's height and reach is too much for Povetkin. I doubt he would get KO'd, and would probably get some rounds. Probably 8-4 or something, with the kicker of a KD scored for AJ.
