The options at 160 for Jacobs blow away those at 168, and most importantly, he and Haymon know that. And going off Pandas point earlier, wouldn't staying with PBC also be a gamble? Mora x2, Quillen, Truax... these are the names that are going to turn him into a PPV star? Not to mention the crazy amount of earning potential he would likely lose as Al keeps him on the shelf 9+ months between fights. He has no good options at 168 and no good options at 160. If he waits long enough, he may get big fights at 160, if he can still make the wait. He gambled by switching sides and it's too soon to know if it'll pay off, but the talk of moving to 168 is hilarious because if he was going to wind up at 168, he never should have left PBC.
And my argument is that staying with PBC wouldn't necessarily have been the best thing if Jacobs was trying to move up (which he's not cus he's not ******). Basically, PBC could give him Benavidez and Ramirez. Well, the big names at 168 are mostly UK fighters - Eubank Groves Degale Smith... why not sign with the the British promoter with relationships with a lot of these fighters and a damn good track record? Purely academic, since moving up to 168 is unnecessarily risking GGG and Canelo money.Comment
