so when he has 1 fight after fighting horn will you start calling for the fight then? how am i the ****** one for wanting the supposed pound for pound number 1 fighter to fight a top fighter within 16 months of his last outing at 140. Is that really that crazy? why would he not be ready at that point. as i said earlier im pretty sure people just dont want either guy to lose and thats what it comes down to.Comment

I agree Horn is the perfect fight for Crawford. Horn is the guy that beat Pac (BS decision). In the eyes of a lot of people this will elevate his status should he win. Elevated status means more people wanting to see him fight which puts more money in his pocket. This is a good decision.I'll be happy if the fight gets made, but I won't call him a coward or other lame names if it doesn't. A fighter should have a right to 2 tuneups/acclimatory fights when permanently moving up in weight. It's smart and healthy.
Also, let's not act like Horn is Alexander Brand. Horn is severely flawed and is obviously not elite, but he's an absolutely legitimate top 10 WW who is big for the division. Horn just beat Pac. No matter how disputed the win, or how far away Pac is from prime, this is still a guy who embarrassed Vargas and Bradley.
Taking on Horn is a GREAT first fight for Crawford. Depending on how he looks, he may take another interim fight before taking on one of the big champs at WW.Comment

Lol the 2 most obvious reasons already posted.
TC aint fought at welter yet and the fight is unlikely because of the promotional issues involved.
Thurman v Spence is an in house fight and doesn't need any of this waiting around rubbish. Heck, most fans are even ready and willing to grant Thurman one tune up....if fighting once a year can be labelled as tuning up. The hope was that Thurman may fight twice this year with Spence being the last fight. He has soundly ducked out of that and it is utterly embarrassing.
That was one of the most embarrassing interviews I've read since Tim "I might lose to Khan" Bradley.Comment
