Didn’t he get knocked down twice by Molina came back and destroyed him? Didn’t he let his balls hang with provodnikov? He lost a close decision to Garcia and lost to Postol.

If Lucas wins on sat and that's a big IF not a guarantee this dude he fighting is big and strong has almost 30 KO's. He's unknown and we have seen these dudes nobody knows but has been destroying guys get a shot on the world stage and shock everyone. But if Lucas wins there are tons of exciting fights you can make. He needs to stay away from huge welterweights but there is currently tons of guys who are not career welterweights what have moved up just like him that make for fun fights. Or a current 140lber to move up to fight him. Broner, Khan, Mikey Garcia, Omar Figueroa, Antonio Orozco, Jessie Vargas, Sadam Ali. Hell even a rematch with Danny Garcia. He's still got power and entertaining.

Plenty of guys in the WBA rankings that he could make defenses against if he wins the belt, Adames, Avanesyan, Samuel Vargas etc. The whole bottom half of those rankings are guys that would come cheap that he could beat up on

Matthysse v Khan would be a great fight to access the top fighters in the division. It could be Matthysse peppered to death or Khan KTFO within 2 rounds. I’d like to see it.

The ship has long sailed and left Matthysse behind.
He will quit again once the going gets tough.

If he quit as Jr. WW while young , you can bet he is going to quit again as a WW and now much older.

Hopefully he gets one last retirement check to sail into the sunset.

Moving up when you're just a power puncher at an advanced age is a recipe for disaster. Those guys will eat the shots that guys at 140 felt. He's already been KO'd by light-punching 140-lber. It's over - this is just fighting for a check.

Matthysse will not beat any elite fighters at 147. He couldn't even get past Postol at 140. It's not happening.
