The WBA needs to be serious about its championship situation because now other sanctioning bodies are starting to institute it more and more with the WBC putting up it's 'interim' belt more often.

The only justification for the introduction of an interim belt is when the incumbent champ is injured and cannot defend within the allotted time. Otherwise, it's just cynical money grabbing.

The WBA is a joke. Most ridiculous sanctioning body in the sport.

I think Lucas will get a shot eventually from one of these guys. I don't think Spence, Crawford or Thurman would view him as much of a threat at this point in their respective careers. And he'll bring a decent amount of money to the table as well.

I don't even think Matthysse wants to win a title, I just think he wants to beat the **** out of Danny Garcia.

He had that opportunity when he was at his peak and, not only did he hit the canvas and lose a legitimate decision, but it can be argued that he has never been the same after that loss. Matthysse is still one of my favorite fighters but he had his flaws exposed by Garcia that night and it set the blueprint for his ensuing disaster against Postol. If anything, Garcia is bigger and stronger now and would likely win in even more convincing fashion at 147.

first and most important, he needs to win this saturday. but i agree with everything you posted. maybe not vs spence who is huge and lucas is kinda small for WW, but vs the others guy i see him having his chances. but again, he needs to win this saturday first.

KD wasnt legit, and neither was the officiating, Garcia literally landed over 2 dozen+ lowblows. it was ridiculous.

and for the record, Garcia was never the same after that fight either & pissed blood for weeks afterwards.

Yep, Thurman is too much for him, Spence is too big for him, Khan would humiliate him, Porter would bruise him etc.
