I like Miller. I really do. But he can't make up reasons as to not fight Povetkin because that fight would DEFINITELY propel him into an AJ fight. The other fight with Trevor Bryan would be a sideways fight. Less risk, but expecting more reward.

The rankings for all these groups are suspect on their best day. And you can delve deeper with specific bs rankings like Bryan's where he's only fought one live body in his entire career (Rossy) & that f#cking fight was 2.5yrs ago. I think anyone who's not fought a live body in almost 2.5yrs should be falling from the rankings not moving up them & idk how anyone could rationally argue against that.
Especially when the two guys that Bryan fought last had a combined record of 4-44 at the time he fought them

In Bryan's last 14 fights, 10 of them have been against guys with a .500 record or worse. That is not worthy of a #5 ranking.
Dudes knocked the same guy out 3 times

Too bad Miller doesn't need a tuneup. So in this case its a keep busy with an easy opponent so I make some money and not lose my place in line.

Easy work for Miller. Would rather see him fight Pulev.

Sideways nothing. Its a step backwards. A sideways move would be someone like Eric Molina. At least Molina has been in their with other top guys and can be used as a measuring stick to see how Miller compares with them. Bryan has done nothing in his career and fought no one significant.

Hearn's US venture isn't looking impressive so far. Jacobs vs B level guys, Miller vs Wach was a fight hardly anyone cared for and now here's another one. I was surprised Hearn signed Miller, US fans don't seem too excited about him and he refused the Ortiz fight when Hearn promoted him a year or two back. Hearn already positioning for AJ-Povetkin after Parker, then probably Fury or Wilder. Not sure what career path he has in mind for Miller, could be fights like this for a while yet.
