"he hopes the IBF and WBA will sanction his fight"

Bryan isn't even ranked by the IBF and how he got ranked by the WBA ..

Sadly, Trevor Bryan's record is a fine example of how doing the absolute minimum, and taking zero risk, is how to navigate towards a high ranking in an ABC Org.

The culture and dynamics certainly need to change - Orgs need to be making guys fight actual live bodies before they lift them up the rankings. Fighting corpses and part-timers shouldn't be rewarded.

Trevor Bryan's resume makes Charles Martin look like a future HOFer.

Miller took a step backwards in his last fight, was boring against Wach and they didn’t sell any tickets on the Jacobs show. Actually both Miller and Jacobs took a step backwards on that last show, waste of HBO money against opponents they should’ve beaten easily. Jacobs lost all of his momentum after losing a decision to GGG at a soldout MSG, then couldn’t sell any tickets against Arias. Miller lost his momentum after a good win, then looked very flat and boring against Wach.

Miller vs Bryan may end up being enough to get the IBF mandatory spot, but even then, the fight is at least another year away, if not longer.

If Miller truly believed he's ready to fight for the title, he fights Bryan to secure the IBF mandatory, and then takes on Povetkin, to get Povetkin's shot bumped off.

Trevor Bryan is/has been with Don King which is why he has been inactive and that's probably why his last opponent has been weak.
He takes what he can get.

That still does not justify this fight being an eliminator.

But this fight just shows that Hearn is taking Joshua to HBO.
Why else would he make an elimination fight on HBO for Joshua's title.
