This is another great post. But I think Showtime will pick up the Ocampo fight too. I think they plan to build around him going forward. That attendance number was very surprising I'm sure.

I think we'll see, but it'll likely come down to whatever else Showtime has put into work for their summer schedule; I still think we get Wilder-Joshua in August on SHOPPV in August, so the urge to hang onto every Errol Spence Jr fight may change.

Spence-Ocampo and Ugas vs Ortiz-Alexander winner as a card for FOX, just as the TV drought is hitting and the NBA is almost over, could be worth more off of Showtime.

Still, the fact that he moved that many tickets gives me pause in my thinking

Seen three of his fights on a youtube channel called "Central Boxing". He has some talent. Still wanted to see the Ponomarev fight though.

Hopefully he can give a good account of himself then, and that he has a corner that loves the man that he can become more than the fighter he can be (like Hunter did in saving Peterson; Peterson still left the ring with fight in him, so I do see him mixing it up with the guys just below that top championship level).

Kind of a tangent, but I remember seeing Glen Tapia get ruined in the James Kirkland fight, and that may have been the first time watching the fight get beat out of a man, all because his trainer didn't do the job and protect him.

The odds will mislead you guys, probably even more than spence last fight of around 25/1 this may be like 50/1 . but ive seen orakpo fight and hes the goods. spence is going to be tested yet again. the line should really be 1.5-1 or 2-1 favorite for spence. grab ur popcorn fellas!

garbage and total waste of time fight. But why does Spence need to depend on rankings and belt orgs for fights when Haymon owns most of the entire division? If Haymon wanted to he could make Spence vs Danny, Spence vs Porter, Spence vs Thurman, ect. Spence has no control over fights with Top Rank and other promoter fighters because politics and networks are real road blocks. But what point is being with Haymon if you can't have access to his top fighters? Most of which are fighting only once a year anyway. Hate on Arum all you want but he makes his top guys all fight each other you will get a round robin of Crawford, Horn, Pac with rematches and probably trilogies. Where there is a strong chance that Spence isn't allowed to fight any of the top guys under Haymon in 2018, just like he didn't in 2017 or 2016. Haymon will sacrifice guys he don't care about like Peterson but it looks like Haymon is scared that Spence will ruin his other guys so he's not making those fights. I don't for 1 moment think the fighters are scared.

Again I don't buy this BS that the fighters are all scared and if Haymon really can't get guys in his own damn stable to fight him then he should of took that Golden Boy deal to fight Cotto last year or needs to sign with Top Rank. Because if Golden Boy can get Cotto to fight Spence and Top Rank can get a guy like Horn to fight Crawford (who everyone thinks is going to destroy him) but Haymon can't get Thurman, Porter, Danny to fight Spence? Sorry I don't buy it.
