they're similar in the way that they almost constantly stay on perfect balance over their stance and maintain near perfect range at all times. there's no big defensive movements that put them out of position, giving opponents very little to react on and they're always in position to punch back with full leverage. this kind of pressure is very taxing. spence is younger, fresher and more dynamic at this point.
lil g is a hype job that this thread tries to compare the two cuz Errol is wrecking shop.
They don't have the same style but you could how they apply a somewhat similar way of winning. Both apply constant pressure that eventually breaks down fighters. Both have good body work. Spence and GGG both get hit but still go forward and mentally drain a opponent. Spence also from the Brook and Peterson fight i noticed does not like being pushed back kinda like GGG and both do the best when going forward and applying the pressure.
They are nothing alike.
The difference is that Errol beat two good opponents while lil g lost to two good opponents.
yes there are a lot of similarities but I find irony in the 2 overacting fanbases. generally the fans of Spence are the users who trashed the overhype GGG was getting for KO'ing horrendous level opponents. Made fun of the fans screaming anybody at 154-168 get's brutally KO'd by GGG. That he destroys Ward and that he KO's light heavyweights in sparring and all this nonsense all while GGG hadn't yet even faced a top middleweight mind you. It looks completely ****** now of course since the moment GGG faced top guys he didn't knock either guy out, and arguably lost both fights. Spence has fought a damaged goods Brook and a old career 140lber Peterson who was inactive and just moved to 147 his previous fight. Nobody of note before that. Can we pump the breaks until he beats either Thurman or Crawford?
But I am amused watching GGG and Spence fans fight each other while they are acting the exact same way over similar fighters beating up on entirely horrible level opponents.
Yes .. I picked up on the similarity watching Spence vs Algeiri and I've mentioned it a few times since.
GGG has proved he has a plan B to fall back on when power and pressure don't get the job done .. an ATG level jab.
We'll have to wait and see if the same is true of Spence. If Brook hadn't gassed after 6 rounds rounds we would already have the answer to that question.

Good post but you should of ended it with Thurman not Bud cuz the same can be said for Bud....
I'm not going to pretend that Spence's body punches didn't take a toll. I wish other people would stop pretending that Brook didn't also have problems making 147. The combination of those 2 factors was what got to him. Another broken orbital bone didn't help Kell either.
I'm not saying Spence couldn't have beaten him if Brook had still been 28, but it it would have been a different fight, I'm sure of that.

NOTHING like GGG! I guess some of you haven't been watching boxing longer than 1-2 years if comparing him to GGG is the best you can ***ing come up with.
GGG has his style and Spence Jr has his Respectfully!
