Spence is likely going to fight in Dallas around June (I've been pegging the Ortiz-Alexander winner as the opponent for some time now, tbh), and then likely fight again to close out the year (if not Thurman on CBS, then likely a fight against his mandatory challenger on FOX).

He's not going anywhere, especially with Jermell Charlo still having a 154lb belt.

I was looking for one fighter to step up and separate themselves from the crowd and none of them did.

I am being harsh on Thurman because he whined the most about Floyd not fighting him. Floyd retired an the way was paved for Thurman to take his spot at 147 and he didn't take advantage of it. Now he's acting like he's Floyd Mayweather of 147 but I don't think he realizes how fast his stock is dropping due to his inactivity and refusal to flat out come out and say he wants to fight Spence. Now he's talking 2019.
Thurman beat García and then he was injured the **** do you expect?

Thurman was eager to fight Garcia and Malignaggi. He also had no problem fighting Porter, even after a car accident. Now, he openly admitted that he's not trying to fight Spence until next year, and he said that last year.

But, he did acknowledge Spence, he just doesn't wanna fight him until next year. He is okay with fighting anyone else at 147 doe.
Who cares if he's getting clowned by nobodies on the internet and hurt his stock among them. Most hardcore Boxing fans pick a new flavour of the week all the time

3 years ago Thurman was in Spencer's shoes as the so called guy no one wanted to fight and everyone was scared & ducking Thurman. Now he's the guy and all he's doing by being vague about fighting Spence and not looking interested in doing so is making the fight bigger when it happens

The thing is Thurman is #1 now he doesn't have to chase like when he was a unknown against Paulie and guys who are #1 never make it seem like their in a rush to fight the guys below them. It's the way of the sport

It's clear a inevitable fight between Spence and Thurman will happen if they both keep winning , sometime in late 18 early 19 and when it does Thurman will be fighting another prime WW in a fight that will probably generate the highest rating of the year for basically all the straps that matter

        That's doesn't sound like someone's who's stocks dropped

Thurman's not a superstar like Canelo, so it's not like he has a gigantic casual fanbase. Besides, how do you know that a lot of those "nobodies on the internet" are just some hardcore fans? Odds are, you don't.

Thurman wasn't even being vague about not wanting to fight Spence. He straight up said that he's not ready, and would fight him in 2019, which we don't know if he's serious about.

But, he had no problem calling out Jeff Horn doe. Spence is the only important welterweight he doesn't want to see in the ring. Looks more like Thurman doesn't wanna take the risk. You wanna know what that's called? Ducking.

Thurman's excuses didn't even make any sense. He said that he has obligations. What obligations? He's the super champion under the WBA, so he doesn't have to fight any mandatories there. The WBC isn't a stickler for world champion responsibilities like the IBF, and unifications usually trump mandatories anyways, so he doesn't have to fight Porter before Spence. Both Thurman and Spence are not superstars, so how much more money would they get in 2019, that would make this delay worth it? Why are you trying to make excuses for Thurman, when he already laid out his own? Thurman's fighting a hungry prime Vargas coming off of an injury and layoff, so what if he loses to him? How can he be sure that he'll keep winning, when he's taking hard fights before even getting the chance to figure out a deal with Spence? If he loses, his whole plan goes out the window, so what'll he do if he does? The more experience Spence gains, the harder it's gonna be for Thurman to pull off a victory on him.

Thurman sounded more like someone who doesn't care if their stock dropped. It's not like it dropped significantly, he's just getting clowned over that sus interview.

Correct. That is the plan if Alexander looks impressive.

and then likely fight again to close out the year (if not Thurman on CBS, then likely a fight against his mandatory challenger on FOX).
Spence/Thurman on CBS is penciled in for early March 2019. Spence's third 2018 fight would likely be a mandatory.

Garcia was 2017. The same year Floyd came out of retirement. What did he go from 2015-2017?

You have a point. But at least he unified. Yeah, now he should fight Spence in 2018, not 2019.

Anyway, you didn't use to blame this way the MWs when they were avoiding Golovkin.

Spence was hyping another date within hours of beating Peterson.

I'm hoping we see him sooner than June & vs someone better than the Devon vs Victor winner.

Whats Porter got going on? Or in talks to do? Is he just waiting on Thurman?

I'm definitely of the opinion that Thurman has hurt his Q score by not fighting much (don't matter the reason) so Thurman needs to quit playing or he'll be begging Spence for a catchweight fight at 150 once Spence does leave 147 & catches the fire many of us suspect he'll catch sooner or later.

Thurman took on Porter then Garcia and then got an injury. Who did he not fight during that period who you wanted him to fight?
