  • Spence and The Truth About The Welterweight Division

It's like the only big fighter at 147 who might fight Spence soon, is Crawford after he wins the WBO title. Keith "Sometimes" Thurman will call him out in 2019, Shawn "Go Time" Porter's hiding under Thurman's WBC belt, Snackuiao's trying to fight Lomachenko, and Danny "Gift" Garcia's putting in work on the cherry orchard.

All jokes aside, Spence is big at 147, so he might have to move up if he can't get a big fight. I think his latest match might've hurt his chances even more.

Yep. I wouldn't be surprised to see him at 154 at the end of 2019. I think Thurman knows this too.

If there was money in a fight with one of these hungry young lions I think Floyd would take it. These fighters had 2 years to make a name for themselves to goad Floyd out of retirement for a fight and none of them did it. The only fighter out there who made a name for himself was McGregor. Thurman did all that whining about Floyd not fighting him and when Floyd retired and Thuram could've became the man he didn't do ****. The ball was handed to Thurman and he fumbled it.

McGregor wasn't even a boxer, and that fight was a circus act.

To be fair, Thurman was Mayweather's mandatory, until the WBA handed Mayweather the super title. It doesn't help that Mayweather fought Berto, Thurman's mandatory, instead of Thurman. There was also the time that he told Thurman to fight Spence, but wouldn't guarantee him a match if he won. The ball was handed to Thurman, and he unified against Garcia. I call him "Sometimes" because of the Spence situation, and because he doesn't knock guys out like he used to, but I think you're being a little too harsh on the guy.

Yea I know McGregor was a circus act but he made himself into the biggest name in combat sports after Floyd retired. While Floyd was active all these fighters were trying to position themselves into a fight with Floyd. When he retired they didn't do ****. It was like they were lost. I was looking for one fighter to step up and separate themselves from the crowd and none of them did.

I am being harsh on Thurman because he whined the most about Floyd not fighting him. Floyd retired an the way was paved for Thurman to take his spot at 147 and he didn't take advantage of it. Now he's acting like he's Floyd Mayweather of 147 but I don't think he realizes how fast his stock is dropping due to his inactivity and refusal to flat out come out and say he wants to fight Spence. Now he's talking 2019.

Crawford is not fighting Spence, get real. The promotional sides won't come together so Bud is kinda screwed and will always be the man outside looking in at 147.

                  Agree with the first paragraph

But I don't think Thurmans stocks dropped at all. Some Hardcore fans might act like their on their menstrual cycle and b.itch and moan and complain and convince themselves that Thurmans ducking Spence because Errol is the new fighter everyone's d.ickriding

But the reality is in the last 3 years Thurman has beat the best guys at WW and is involved in the highest or second most watched fight every year. When the Spence fight happens the trend will continue

It's the way boxing works when your the top dog and Keith is, you don't acknowledge the guys below you.

Thurman's been getting clowned ever since that interview about Spence not being on his "To Do" list. Not only that, but the video of the interview has more dislikes than likes on YouTube. Yeah, I think it has hurt his stock a bit, at least.

Thurman was eager to fight Garcia and Malignaggi. He also had no problem fighting Porter, even after a car accident. Now, he openly admitted that he's not trying to fight Spence until next year, and he said that last year.

But, he did acknowledge Spence, he just doesn't wanna fight him until next year. He is okay with fighting anyone else at 147 doe.
