Ortiz.. Even tho he's a million years old, he got good body work and in the Jennings fight he moved really well.. Though he has seemed to decline since. I think Ortiz will give Wilder problems for the first 7 but get KO'd late.

Parker will take AJ all 12 IMO put he'll take a beating and AJ will win a UD.

They are both untested so I guess we'll find out on fight night what they are made of.

You seem to be comparing Ortiz to Wilder and Parker to AJ, whereas I was comparing them to each other.

I rate Parker over Ortiz because of his youth and activity against top 10 opponents - Ruiz, Takam and Hughie.

Ortiz won his last fight quickly, but he didn't look good to me. And when you consider he's either been depending on PEDs or legitimately needs medication for high blood pressure .. neither bodes well for an aging fighter.

This was my take also. It's close, because you can see Ortiz has skill and power, but he looks like a fighter in decline.

Setting aside the impact that PEDS or lack of them may have had, he looks like time is catching up with him and the boxing ring tends to be a very unforgiving place when that starts to happen. Parker meanwhile should be improving physically with every round he spars.

You have to compare both to who they are fighting to determine who will have the tougher time . Parkers last 6 fights his only dominant performance was against Dimitrenko and thats the same guy K.O'd by a Pulev jab . That was 2 years ago and he has no performance after that you can confidently say hes the better fghter .

Parker doesnt hit harder , doesnt have better defense or offense , doesnt have better ring IQ . The only advantage that anyone can give him without guessing is speed .

You're going against a much more experienced guy with a less holes in his game and counting on Parker to step up which really hasn't happened . We havent even seen Ortiz in title fights yet where Parker has had 6 and all but 1 looked good .

Ortiz has only had 30 pro fights in 8 years with 124 rounds . Hes not as shop worn you are making him out to be .

Parker has had 24 fights in 5 years with 125 rounds . Hes the younger ,more active guy but Ortiz has not burnt out .

Everyone also thought Klitchko was done based on a few fights (NOT including me ) and it ended up being one of his best fights against Joshua .

Ortiz seemingly is the bigger/smarter /stronger /skilled fighter no matter what year you are going by .

Those picking Parker are RELYING on age as the main factor yet Ortiz still looks more polished , he also just had a fight so the ring rust will not be there AS much had the first date went ahead .

Theres really not enough of actual visual evidance to go with Parker vs ASSUMING Ortiz is done !

Ortiz has potential, but given his last few fights, it’s questionable to me if he will ever make it now.

Parker is has slowly stepped up his game and is still young and fresh - I think he’s more guaranteed to put up a fight that’s for sure, whether he is at the same level as the elite we will find out.

For me on that basis it has to be Parker currently. It is not too different to Joshua wilder to be honest in terms on reasons, but wilder is a lot younger than Ortiz at least so still has some time to fight some decent opponents.

Ortiz is more dangerous and likely to KO his opponent. Parker is more likely to win rounds. The only thing Ortiz has over Parker is power. Parker is better overall.

Louis Ortiz is a way more skilled fighter than JP more boxing experience as well.
Hes also from a boxing culture.

I think Parker fights to the level of his competition, a la Danny G, and might show some interesting moments in his fight with AJ. All the pressure is really on Joshua, not Kiwi

They are both worthy opponents in the top 5 and Parker is a belt holder. I think Ortiz is a little better and would probably beat Parker. I would be surprised if Parker beats AJ. Ortiz has a good chance to KO Wilder but I think Wilder's superior speed and work rate combined with his power will probably get him a KO win. I doubt either fight goes the full 12 rounds.
