The first time I heard about Errol Spence it was from sparring, just like the first time I heard about GGG. Just fighters talking about them, and how those two were something else. Then I couldn’t wait to see them fight.

I took notice of Spence when Floyd himself said that Spence was "giving him outstanding work" and made him "wanna work harder" in sparring. When I heard that, I knew that Floyd got schooled when the two of them sparred.Comment

I don't know whether Mayweather Jr quit or not but I do know I'd love to see the sparring sessions between Spence and Floyd......would be fascinating.Comment

This is pretty much the top and bottom of it.It's sparring. Floyd was probably training all day. I'm not one to defend Floyd (I'm a much bigger fan of Spence) but casual fans don't understand what sparring is about, they think it's like a real fight. It's training. Sometimes, you spar several guys in a row to condition yourself. Sometimes you get heroes that wanna make a statement and go too hard. Who knows what really happened.
Say you are doing the rounds sparring, bringing in a fresh body every three rounds...you are getting deep into it and tired, then some guy comes in trying to play hero rather than assist you and your camp? What do you do? Probably not gonna want to use him, right?
But, like you said, who knows. It doesn’t mean much.Comment
