    bring on Porter...he'll beat Porter
Danny is good but his work rate cost him against Thurman. Danny can be out worked.

Guy was never really interested in going all the way to the top. He and his dad rejected the idea of fighting Mayweather and Pacquiao. They probably didn't even expect to beat Matthysse and Khan. Most fans probably have pretty good idea how far they wanted to go, and that is getting out as soon as the going gets tougher and tougher.

He had the Salka destruction in a nothing fight, but then he was lined up for another three good fights.

Tune-up against Samuel Vargas, and he jumped right into the fight with Keith Thurman.

A seven year run, and maybe three bum fights? Makes no sense

September 2013 he beats matthysee. Good win. I was a fan.

Then it took him 6 months to fight Herrera. Long layoff, but matthysee was a tough fight, so I was ok with that. Herrera lost every time he stepped up in comp, but it was more of a filler fight after the tough Matthysee win. Still ok with Gracia.

Then, imo, he loses to Herrera, and of course doesn't give the guy a rematch. Smh I'm still ok with Garcia, because this IS a business, and Herrera seemed to have his number.

Then he holds the WBC belt hostage for 5 more months, and takes on a extremely overmatched salka. If he was going for ANOTHER gimme fight, should have given Herrera a rematch.

Then it took him EIGHT more months to fight again. And who does he fight? The inactive peterson. A guy who Matthysee KOed 3 fights earlier. Garcia could only get a mixed decision.

So after nearly 2 years of holding the WBC belt hostage, fighting no one of note, and questionable decisions, it was time for Garcia to step up.

Who does he fight? Mr feather fist himself, mallinaggi. Smh At this point, most fans said WTF????

After ANOTHER 5 months of holding the title hostage, he takes on guerrero who everyone knew was on the south side of his career. And who had just bearly eaked out a decision against a guy who had been KOed in his previous fight. Smh.

Then he takes TEN MORE MONTHS OFF, and fights Samuel Vargas, who had been KOed by Spence 4 fights earlier. After getting KOed by Spence, Vargas fights 3 tomato cans, and THAT'S who the WBC champ decides to fight???? After taking 10 months off???? Smh

Then, FINALLY, after nearly FOUR years of holding the WBC belt(s) hostage, and really fighting no one of note, he fights an actual threat in Thurman. And thank the boxing gods, he loses.

Like I said earlier, had he won, after another 8 month layoff, he would have another B rated fighter lined up. Milking that title, waiting for the next big payday. Pfffttt!

The above mentioned fights and schedule would have been acceptable for a contender, but the WBC champ, over nearly FOUR YEARS?? With all due respect, GTFOH.

Fighters like Garcia are what's wrong with boxing!

He means after Rios, he's going to take a break to avoid a potential Crawford bout. We know Danny boy, you don't want to get beaten like a wet dog.

How much higher was he supposed to go? He unified the two most important championships at super lightweight, won the most important championship at welterweight and then tried to unify the two most important championships at welterweight in hopes of becoming an undefeated two weight unified world champion. What percentage of fighters in history have achieved that?

He came up short in his quest to unify at a second weight, but it wasn't due to a lack of interest in going all the way to the top. It was due to Keith Thurman being better than he is. No shame in that. Why would we criticize a guy for fighting the top fighter at his weight?

He and his dad rejected the idea of fighting Mayweather and Pacquiao.
Hahahahaaha. Thanks for at least making it more obvious how ****** your positions are. Danny was never offered the Mayweather fight and has called Floyd out many times. Their paths never crossed as by the time Danny was at 147, Floyd was retired and didn't think there was enough money on the table to justify coming out of retirement for Danny.

As for Pacquiao, Danny was offered short money and would have had to sign a long term exclusive promotional agreement with Top Rank. That was not a clean offer. Danny will make more money fighting on Showtime.

This is why lots of people hate Garcia now. He used to be a well liked fighter. His low level of competition, infrequent fights and debatable, narrow wins have people believing he's a fraud.
