  • Comments Thread For: Danny Garcia: I Needed a Break Mentally, Physically From Boxing

Danny Garcia feels refreshed. The former welterweight and junior welterweight champion needed a mental and physical break from boxing following his split-decision defeat to Keith Thurman in their 147-pound title unification fight March 4. It wasn't until about six months later that he started feeling the urge to fight again.

The dude who was given one serious opponent every 18-24 months is burnt out.

Makes you wonder how they used to cope with their schedules way back in 90s and 00s, when fighting a Rod Salka for $700,000 wasn't an option.

Yeah, I guess all the soft touches and past primed fighters took there toll on Garcia.

Garcia has managed to take on better opponents than most on on the pound for pound. At this point, this questioning of his opposition is getting silly. A tired narrative from the boxing media’s typical groupthink that, unfortunately, fans regurgitate without any real analysis.
