Why didn't Jmm rematch floyd after beating Pacquiao?

hey Chris, you seem to have a good knowledge about the guy without being a dumb fan boy and you give good posts, but just curious and would like to hear your thoughts, did you think Marquez roided for the 3rd pacquiao fight when he got with Memo?He got screwed over by Floyd not honoring the contract. Everyone knew this was a money grab by JMM. He felt he wouldn't get roughed up and physically beaten down (I thought he'd get stopped and would never get the fight he really wanted - Pacquaio III) so he took the $3m plus $600k for the weight advantage Floyd (didn't need but) bought. Marquez was very frustrated at GBP for being underpaid and underexposed. Berto was making more money on his under card than he got headlining in those days and pressured GBP into getting bigger paydays since they were failing to deliver Pacquaio III.
If you look at what he and Nacho were saying prior they were saying they will give their all and are working on things but didn't say they will win. They knew the size of the task and Nacho even said he didn't like the size of Marquez or his speed prior to the fight.
Not sure you were watching back then or know the stories but that's how things played out.
This actually was a gamble that paid off for Marquez because TR would never have given him fight III yet now they wanted to use him at 147 as a measuring stick for Pacquaio and tried to bring him in as a lamb to the slaughter and it backfired and Marquez schooled him in fight III and KO'd him in fight IV giving Marquez something Floyd never had - a win over a great fighter.
I've always been Marquez fan. I am not blinded fanboy. I went to pretty much every Marquez fight from Barrera to Alvarado (missed Juarez, Ramos and Senchencko only) and can view his career objectively.Comment

He was on the world stage years before fighting Floyd. He clearly beat Trout in a tough fight. He fought former champions. And solid competition leading up to Floyd. He also fought Floyd who was 36 years old at the time. An undefeated fighter at 24 fighting a 36 year old undefeated champion usually has the advantage. 24 years old in sport is around your physical prime.
Floyd is not superman. 36 is old in sports. You guys want him to fight everybody at their physical and mental peak while not aging.
Give him his props for a remarkable career.Comment

Still the greatest of this generation and a top 15 atg.But never beat a great fighter near their prime.
Marquez lost at 40 so what? It's just a testament to him he was about to score a big win at that age against that caliber of fighter. Hard to hold a fight against him aged 40. Does Whitaker getting his **** pushed in against Tito aged 34 mean Whitaker needs to be re-evaluated?
You think Marquez was in his prime in his late 30s as a Welterweight because you don't know boxing and/or are too biased to discuss it objectively.Comment

Perhaps and can see why folks lean towards probably. I also believe Pacquaio to have been juiced too so if anything the playing field was leveled.
I think the argument in favor would be would Memo really be that dumb again especially with scrutiny on him? But he could also be a genius. I think given Marquez' history of ethics and integrity if he did take something it probably wasn't knowingly. i think he's earned that right. I think more fighters probably are roided than they know and just go with what is advised.Comment

JMM had one fight at 135, otherwise had fought his entire career at 130 or under. I don't see how going the distance with a fighter who's coming up two weight classes (at least) is an impressive win for Floyd.Comment
