Who was greater: Floyd Mayweather or Evander Holyfield?

Let's get this out of the way.

Floyd Mayweather: beat Oscar, Pac, Cotto, Hatton, Maidana, etc. Has held world titles in 5 lower weight classes. Retired with with an official record of 50-0.

Evander Holyfield: beat Holmes, Foreman, Tyson(x2), Douglas, etc. Only boxer in history to be Undisputed champ at both Cruiser and Heavyweight. Four-time Heavyweight champ.

    Who was the greater boxer?

      Holyfield by far.

Victories over Larry Holmes, Moorer, Bowe, and Mike Tyson makes Floyd's resume look like chump change.

Holyfield by far! Interesting comparison. He is a seriously underrated fighter and a true warrior.

Holyfield. A proven track record of always going for and getting and also accepting the toughest challenges available. Some perspective; he wasn't even supposed to do well at Heavyweight after unifying Cruiserweight. Deemed too small and not a hard enough puncher despite beating the likes of Dokes, Thomas and Tillis and then was the much smaller wins for some very good wins like Foreman and a great one like Bowe and not to mention the 26-1 odds he overcame to beat Tyson.

A great combination puncher also and one of the most entertaining and gutsy fighters of any era. Mayweather is great but Holyfield is a notch above IMO and probably one of the top 5 fighters of the last 30 years.

It’s really not a fair comparison because Holyfield fought so far past his prime his record doesn’t tell the whole story.

                    It's close.

Can't believe no one has mentioned Holyfield's wins over Qawi and De Leon.
