Has there ever been a boxer who is as scared of another boxer as Golovkin is of Ward?

"Ward, as a man, is dead to me." -Golovkin
Where I'm from men don't talk like that, scorned girlfriends and wives do.

          Spinks > Hagler

          Ward > Golovkin

The analogy has its points. Yes, Spinks/Hagler had a greater frame/size difference, but Ward is also definitely bigger than Golovkin.

Spinks and Ward were both super skilled, so it's not just a size thing. If you're Hagler or Golovkin respectively, you'd be giving up size and strength -- and barely breaking even in skills or desire. So why move up? You aren't exactly tall. You want to finish dominating your own weight division where the bigger opportunities are anyway. The most interesting and lucrative fighters have made a point of challenging you in your turf. So you fight them.

I know you're not big on facts but I'll try again.
When a Ward/GGG fight was a real possibility (not when Ward was injured, not when Ward was having legal problems) team GGG (both Loeffleor and Unable) insisted the fight could only happen at 164. This after accepting 168 for both Froch and Chavez Jr. They knew Ward would be hard pressed to make 168 and 164 was out of the question. They could act like they wanted a Ward fight but wouldn't have to actually fight Ward. Clear duck!
After this debacle, Ward moved up to fight the perceived killer, #1 light heavy, and p4p top 3 Kovalev. GGG drug the #3 or #4 welterweight up not one but two weight classes for a bout. So who was looking for tough fights and who wasn't?

I recommend you start at the 11 minute mark.

If anything Loeffler says is a lie, please enlighten me. Thanks.

GGG was scared of Ward, but I don't think I've ever seen a fighter make lamer excuses than Shane did to justify avoiding prime Floyd. This dude said he had a toothache. "I need to spend time with my family"

No .. because one quality they all share is ******ity.

They encourage each other to ignore facts and allow prejudice and emotional reaction to rule whatever capability for logical thought they have.
