    Bellew-Makabu.

I just rewatched the Bellew-Makabu fight. I'm still surprised Bellew pulled off the win. But, how did he manage to win? Was it because he was bigger than Makabu? Did he win because he had more experience? Or did Makabu just get exposed?

    Because he's the better fighter.

People talk like Bellew is a bum. He's a world level fighter with some decent wins on his record. Not saying he's elite but you would have to be a very very good fighter to beat him convincingly. The only real decisive loss on his record was against Adonis Stevenson and Bellew was a dead man walking at the weight for that fight. That's not to say he would have beaten Stevenson anyway but it certainly didn't help.

At his best, Bellew is certainly a better fighter than someone on the level of Makabu.

Bellew looked a lot bigger than Makabu, almost like MAKABU was the one moving up from LHW to CW.

Cruiser is just not that great of a division, I have it ranked behind 175 and HW. Most of the fighters are just flat out sloppy.

We've seen multiple fighters from lower divisions doing things they should not have been able to do at cruiser Bellew's win over Makabu is on par with any of Usyk's best wins. Vlasov is another guy that cracked into the top 10 at cruiser with relative ease.

Shot fighters that have already been violently KO'd like Miranda & RJJ were going rounds with some of the hardest hitters in the division like Dorticos & Lebedev. Even Miranda put up a better fight against Dorticos than Kudryahsov. Put either RJJ or Miranda vs 175's biggest punchers and they wouldn't last 5 let alone 10 like they were doing at cruiser.

The smaller weight classes like 175 produce more skilled fighters that are able to expose the sloppier cruisers. While guys like Dorticos & Gassiev, easily top 4 in the division, don't do anything better than most heavies and would be undersized themselves at HW.

Makabu struggled with the pressure and also seemingly couldn't take his power.

i generally agree with your posts (apart from sucking off ********) but your way way off here. Bellew is one of the luckiest overrated guys in boxing to win the lottery without actually having to fight anyone

how in the **** can you say bellew is world level since every time he has stepped up to world level hes lost ?

He sc****d past a euro level masternek ( i personally thought he lost)

he got schooled by cleverly and then managed to sc**** a SD agaisnt him years later at a weight cleverly had zero buisness at and literally did nothing but lay on the ropes for 8-9 rounds and bellew still couldnt finish him.

IF like you say tony is world level, or even fringe world level, what top 10 cruiser-weight could he beat?

Usyk? loses every round or gets TKO'd
            Gassiev? Gets KO'd
            Dorticos? Gets KO'd
            Bredis? Gets UD

even fringe top 15/20 guys like Tabiti or Mchunu or Vlasov all beat him IMO.

Makabu has an awful tendency of dropping his opposing hands when in range. Imo Bellew noted it and felt he could exploit it and did just that.

Makabu has a brother at HW you's should check out he's quite an interesting prospect

Shame he's not a bit heavier, I feel like he can just about go 12 with any Heavyweight in the world. Crafty prick, he got a good killer punch too for the late rounds. Doesn't even seem like he'd be a tough guy, he's all about the regal act etc. Guess he enjoys training.

I want to see Tyson fight Briggs just for ****s and giggles, because I know Tyson respects Briggs for beating George Foreman.
