Haymon squandered a billion dollars and Pbc is on its last legs and people call him a mastermind lol
Mastermind? Nah. He has this amazing stable of fighters and somehow has seemed to kill what should have been a slam dunk. And of course boxing thrived on free TV for generations before he did it. Nothing new under the Sun in putting matches on TV. As a matter of a fact Haymon was too ambitious, trying to won Boxing on every major outlet instead of selling a smaller amount of fights on a few networks and letting it grow.

But truth is truth: The early PBC cards were very good rating magnets, and the promotions took notice. If he doesn't do it, we probably don't see ESPN take a flier on GB and TR. The boxing on HBO/Showtime and on PPV were the new normal and Haymon challenged that. Boxing fans should remember that.

Im not so sure of that because the reason why Bob signed with Espn is because Hbo cut their boxing budget and Top Rank wasnt getting enough cards so he sought out alternative networks. It might have happened regardless of Pbc. Haymon screwed up bringing boxing to free t.v. big time so Bob had to show him how its done
