im utterly embarrassed by this, if you think Joshua is the fighter of the year you have no business in reporting on boxing as you are a ****in groupie

But your other point about Loma beating a guy almost 40, that wasn't the narrative going into the fight. People were saying how it was fight of the year, one of the best fights ever made, and you even had prominent trainers and fighters picking Rigondeaux. It wasn't until after Lomachenko squashed him that the excuses started coming out. So he has to get full credit for that win.
Now, I told everyone the fight wasn't going to be competitive. But I'm just one person. Many were convinced it was going to be a competitive fight.Comment

That's just hating. There were 4 legit winners - Joshua, Loma, Crawford and Mikey Garcia.
Joshua is bigger than all of them and sold more tickets in 2 fights in 2017 than the other 3 sold in their entire careers - combined.
He got the biggest, most talked about win of 2017.
Loma a great fighter, but he beat a super bantamweight, a featherweight coming off a loss and a club fighter in Sosa.
Garcia and Crawford had bigger claims to FOTY than he did.Comment

Best win of the year is between AJ over Wlad and Sadam over Cotto but AJ getting it is not a shocker, as a Wilder fan I agreeComment

I agree. It should be Sor Rungvisai.

I get there was intrigue with them both being so skilled and double Olympic gold medallists but I personally didn't see many outside of YT comments giving him much chance the bookies didn't either. I also don't pay much attention to most peoples predictions as they pick and bet with their hearts or through an agenda. I like Loma he's terrifically skilled but like he said himself Rigo is too small. People always bring up fighters successfully jumping up two weights but for every one there's 5 maybe 10 who failed. He's also 38, terribly inactive and has been on a slow decline for a couple of years now those are things only very bias, blind or ignorant people would ignore.
I just can't be impressed by a fighter especially an elite one beating a guy so much smaller (and older). Its a no win situation.Comment

strange decision. ultimately he went life and death with a 41 year old coming off almost a 2 year lay off who had looked terrible in his previous fight. And then he had an awkward nights work against takam. It was a good year but nowhere near fighter of the year.Comment
