Good pick.. He's brought more attention to the sport than all the other boxers combined.

      Boooooool Sheeeeet!!!!!!!!!!!!
AJ had only ONE recognized fight and survived it only because Klit was rusty as hell. Old Klit almost KOed this gasless tank.
As for fight with Takam, it was easy stoppage because there was no stoppge at all. Btch decided to stop it on itself and AJ was happy for this ref's decision.

To win Fighter of the Year I think you need more than one good win, unless said win is especially momentous or some kind of huge upset. Just because Joshua is one of the most popular fighters right now doesn't mean he had the most impressive campaign. The win over Klitschko was great, but it's one that he was more or less the favourite to win, so it's not like he shocked the world or anything. Against Takam he put in a flat performance against a last-minute opponent who's not awful, but isn't really top level either. On the other hand, Lomachenko continued to show that he's one of the most skilled fighters not only currently but perhaps of all time, as he dazzles the audience while battering and humiliating his opponents no matter how good they are. Sor Rungvisai came from nowhere to first beat and then obliterate the former consensus P4P #1 in the rematch. Both would have been more worthy winners, Sor Rungvisai especially so.

Seems a good way to look at it.

No my point is the one Wilder fan that responded agreed with the decision. Most of the other negative reactions seem to be from Lomachenko's or other fans. Your point about Wilder fans being sad based on the comments was wrong!

Joshua had a hell of a year. Became unified Heavyweight champion of the world in the fight of the year and SD out 90 thousand and 70 thousand respectively. He's become 1A or 1B the biggest star the sport has to offer.
I think it belongs to Bud Crawford, but I can understand why AJ would be chosen.

So fighter of the year is a popularity contest? Its not the best fighter?

Does look and style are a requirement too?

I wonder of him smashing Rihanna or Khan's wife made him fighter of the year

Crawford, Loma or Sor Rongvisai should have been fightet of the year.

The Thai beat the P4P undefeated fighter than KTFO in the rematch....

Way better wins than anyone in boxing this year
