It has nothing to do with Carlos Acevedo! None of the quotations I gave were from Carlose Acevedo. One was from Jack Dempsey's coach himself who wrapped his gloves. The other was mentioned above. Especially the one about the loaded gloves is a FACT and can be proven because the interview with Dempsey's coach was done by a respected journalist and the article was found and reposted by reliable news outlets. Come on, bro.

That he believes Mayweather was shrewd at selecting opponents doesn't bother me at all. Shouldn't he have been shrewd at selecting opponents? I don't get the point. As for saying he ducked this or that fighter, the information doesn't show it. I've posted to you about that before. All I'm saying is if anyone wants to discuss it, prove that the facts are wrong or taken in the wrong context or misconstrued. The problem here is that I have already acknowledged Dempsey was no angel. particularly in his youth before becoming a world champion. You said Dempsey ducked black fighters--to which he admits he only avoided ONE, that was a much more seasoned and experienced Sam Langford--so why would he admit he avoided Langford yet lie about Wills? Harry Wills was nothing special, but just like Floyd, if the money isn't there, then there is no fight, stop the double standard. You also think Floyd didn't duck any fighters in their prime even when faced with very suspect choices of opponents. Acevedo even acknowledges Floyd's cherry-picking ways. But he's only telling the truth when he speaks of Dempsey, not Floyd right?

Once again, I posted the situation where Dempsey backed out of the fight with Wills. Dempsey hadn't fought a black contender since 1916. He retired in 1927!!! That's 11 years without fighting a black fighter! There was huge interest in the Wills fight, and Wills said he ducked him FOR YEARS. You've pointed out to one instance. If you have some information on Wills, post it with the source and maybe we can get to the bottom of what happened. But it just seems biased being that, for example, many of us posted about the 50/50 contract for Pac and you dismiss it by saying it didn't happen and then basically take a shlt on Kevin Iole who is an award winning boxing journalist and insider who always comes through with reliable information and is greatly admired amongst his peers and the boxing community.
