A "Good Win" and a "Good fight" doesn't make you a p4p fighter. It is consistency of wins and accomplishments, which Spence is not yet doing.

I totally agree, but it was a tough test in a hostile stadium in Kell Brooks home town. If he beats Thurman or Crawford he's top 3 P4P.

When Spence become P4P #1 (and he will) a lot of folks in this thread are going to feel pretty silly.

And while his trainer insists his defense is better than what we have seen, it needs to be said that Kell Brook landed better against Golovkin and Porter than he did vs Spence.

His defense is not the liability some think, especially if we have yet to see his best.

        Spence is actually underrated.

nobody has ever called him the next floyd.

and no, you do not need to be well rounded to be p4p king. pacquiao only had one gear and always had crappy defense himself. but managed to get fighter of the decade.

spence is still developing and if he isn't as good as the hype says he is why isn't anybody in a rush to fight him?

i said the same about ggg for years. if he's truly all hype why are all these champions avoiding him. ggg also has a leaky defense.

spence is a high volume puncher that stalks you and breaks u down with body shots. anybody with that style is gonna take some hits but he keeps coming. nobody has ever forced spence to fight differently.

most fighters are vulnerable to a good uppercut...

i dunno if anyone claimed he was the next floyd just on skills and the ability to mimmick floyds style....spences style if much different....i just think some think he can be a star.....but i dunno if he can ever turn the villain card over...although he might have a bit of it in him....hes a pretty humble guy....hes been getting some push too....he was on the sidelines for the cowboys thanksgiving day game and the broadcast showed him and mentioned him....

when you are an offensive fighter, as future hendrixx mentioned, you are going to take some.....if spence fought like floyd the last quarter of his career then he could probably show you some different things and a different style.....youve got to take a lil to get off when you are an aggressive offensive guy

As long as he stays at 147 he will be fine. He lacks the nuances and boxing ability to be great against bigger guys at the moment, but he may develop that overtime. For an Olympian, I was very disappointed with how uncomfortable he looked fighting backwards whenever Kell Brook summoned the will to come forward.

I think Spence is the best welterweight including the excellent Crawford. He is a wicked body puncher and attacks very hard so he gets hit more than a defensive boxer. His chin seems solid. He is very high up in my top 10 best pfp list. He should easily beat and KO a good solid contender like Peterson. If he has a hard time beating Peterson then I have him overrated. I think he deserves the hype unless and until some boxer shows he doesn't.

He's very good but I think pre-GGG Brook would've beaten him. That weight move and fight has ruined Brook.
